Offering a safe, professional manner for creative individuals to connect with one another, this is an essential event for any actors, filmmakers and future creatives to attend and learn from.
Date: Monday 11th December Time: 4pm Location: Studio A One of the most important British films of all time, Powell & Pressburger's Black Narcissus will be screened in advance of our December Professional Perspectives guest, Craig McCall, who will join us to speak about the career of Jack Cardiff, one of British cinema's most acclaimed cinematographers ever. Set in a mysterious monastery high in the Himalayas, the film focuses on the mental unravelling of a group of nuns trying to establish a school there, whilst erotic paintings on the ancient palace walls taunt their deepest, darkest desires. Come see the film that won Jack Cardiff the Oscar for Best Cinematography, and that lives on today as a prime example of psychological drama.
Join us for some festive fun as we close out the first term of the year with our CHRISTMAS PARTY! Taking place from 5pm at ARCH Clapham (next to Clapham High Street overground station), it'll be a relaxed atmosphere with music, drinks and good cheer. Drinks tokens will be given out to those attending so please be sure to book your tickets in advance so we know how many of you to expect.

Featuring a wide variety of different visual stories, genres, themes and ideas, we are proud to be showcasing all these films in Studio A on the big screen! Be sure to book your ticket to come along to our school's own miniature film festival!
DATE: 2nd April TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A Are you looking to get feedback on a film, acting showreel or short screenplay? Send it in to be part of our CRITICAL VIEWING SESSION. This is a laid-back, informal session where you can receive feedback on your work from your peers and friends in a friendly, constructive manner. This will be a great opportunity for you to get unofficial feedback on work you have completed both in school and in your personal time, as well as give you the chance to flex your criticism muscles and express how you feel about others' work. Please note, films should not exceed 10 minutes, scripts or script samples should not exceed 10 pages and showreels/performance pieces should not exceed 5 minutes.
Date: Monday 16th October Time: 4pm Location: Studio A Join us again for CFS Film Club, as this week we visit one of the essential independent films of the last decade, 2016's Best Picture Winner Moonlight. Barry Jenkins' tender masterpiece explores the LGBT identity within wider African-American culture, with stunning imagery, sensational performances and a wondrous score. Follow the story of Chiron, a teenager growing up in the Miami ghetto, dealing with his sexuality and drug-addict mother. Tickets are free to this event, and be sure to join us in The Landor pub afterwards to discuss the film together.
DATE: 31st January TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A Our Greta Gerwig season continues with this adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's classic, Little Women. Set in 1860s Massachusetts, the film follows the story of the four March sisters, young ladies coming into their adulthood whilst dealing with familial poverty and their place in a patriarchal landscape. Featuring an all-star cast including Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Emma Watson, Laura Dern, Timothee Chalamet, Meryl Streep and Bob Odenkirk, the sophomore release of Gerwig's filmography will make you laugh, cry and punch the air with excitement.
DATE: 30th January TIME: 4pm LOCATION: Studio A We are pleased to reignite Professional Perspectives in 2024 with a fantastic first guest, legendary British actress and multi BAFTA-winner Jessica Hynes. Jessica has acted in numerous critically-acclaimed series and films over a stunning career, including Spaced, Twenty Twelve, Doctor Who, Years and Years, Paddington 2, Son of Rambow and There She Goes. A celebrated screenwriter and director as well, every student at Central Film School will benefit from hearing Jessica speak, as she offers insight and advice from her time in the entertainment industry. Be sure to book tickets in advance so that you don't miss out.
DATE: 26th March TIME: 4pm LOCATION:Studio A We are pleased to welcome Film Buddy back for an exclusive TELEVISION SCREENWRITING mentoring session, where we will feature two wonderful guest speakers and mentors: CALEB RANSON (Around the World in 80 Days, Midsomer Murders) and JAKE RIDDELL (Waterloo Road, Young Dracula, Grantchester, Death in Paradise). They will be discussing various aspects of TV Screenwriting, including what to include in your pilot and how best to pitch your series idea.
