<p>This 5 half-day Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course covers carbon capture and geological storage of carbon dioxide. Burning fossil fuels for energy is a major source of carbon dioxide emissions to the atmosphere. Most anthropogenic (man-made) carbon dioxide is emitted by coal-fired or gas-fired power plants, and significant quantities of carbon dioxide are emitted through the production and separation of carbon dioxide-rich natural gas and industries such as cement, iron and steel. Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage, or CCUS, involves the long-term storage of captured carbon dioxide emissions in subsurface geologic formations.</p>
<p>This VILT course covers all aspects of CCUS including transport, storage and monitoring, economics and community engagement. It explores in detail the challenges of the current technology of geological storage, monitoring and verification including examples from working projects around the world. Many of these technologies are commonly employed by the petroleum industry. Successful deployment of CCUS will also require economic incentives, appropriate regulation, clarity on liability issues and acceptance by the community. These aspects of CCUS, and the corresponding opportunities for appropriately skilled organisations and individuals also will be discussed.</p>

<p>Your first expert course leader spent 18 years in the Petroleum Industry before joining academia, in both technical and managerial roles with Shell, Arco and Vico. He has received numerous awards, including Distinguished Service, Honorary member and Special Commendation awards from the American Association of Petroleum Geologist (AAPG) and was AAPG's International Vice-President and recently chairman of AAPG's House of Delegates (the Associations Parliamentary body).</p>
<p>He is an SPE Distinguished Lecturer (DL) and has served as DL for several other professional organisations, including, AAPG, IPA and PESA. He is currently a Professor of Petroleum Geology and Engineering at the Australian School of Petroleum, University of Adelaide. He holds the South Australia State Chair in Carbon Capture &amp; Storage (CCS) and is also presently Distinguished Scientist of the Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC), having served earlier as the Storage Program Manager and Chief Scientist.</p>
<p>Your second expert course leader has a wide and deep knowledge of major capture technologies: solvent, membrane and adsorption based technologies and has developed pathways for retrofitting CO<sub>2</sub> capture and storage (CCS) to fossil fuel-based power plants. He has been actively engaged in Post-combustion capture project management and demonstration projects in Victoria's Latrobe Valley on CO<sub>2</sub> capture and hydrogen production, and on CO<sub>2</sub> capture using membrane contactor technology.</p>
<p>He has led various feasibility studies for the Asian Development Bank on CO<sub>2</sub> Capture at Indian Oil Corporation's refineries, for JPOWER on hydrogen production from Victorian brown coal and for Kawasaki on incorporation of CCS in hydrogen production from fossil fuel. He has authored multiple peer reviewed journal articles, co-authored various confidential reports on CO<sub>2</sub> capture, utilization and hydrogen production and utility, and has presented his work at various conferences, symposiums and seminars. He has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Monash University Australia and a Master of Technology in Process Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi India.</p>

The software simulates a conventional rotary rig, equipped with two National 12P160 mud pumps and a complete mud treatment system. All required drilling equipment such as drill bits, drill pipe, drill collars, survey systems, downhole motors are available. The student will have to analyse the planned well and decide what type of assembly to use for the section to be drilled. This can be a conventional rotary assembly, a motor and a bent sub, a steerable system and even medium radius tools. The student will have to make up a correct BHA, run it in the hole, take a survey (with MWD or with gyro or single shot), orient his assembly and start drilling.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">As in real life and when using an MWD, the student can keep track of the tool face orientation and the hole direction together with the inclination. The student can stop drilling at any time to orient or to take a survey. At regular intervals the student will take a survey, the computer calculates the data and the student has to plot the result on the well plan, which the student will receive in an A0 format. The software will keep track of the drilling cost and the drilling time. <p>Your Expert Course Trainer has over 40 years of experience in the Oil &amp; Gas industry. During that time, he has worked exclusively in well intervention and completions. After a number of years working for intervention service companies (completions, slickline &amp; workovers), he joined Shell as a well service supervisor. He was responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all well intervention work on Shell's Persian/Arabian Gulf platforms. This included completion running, coil tubing, e-line, slickline, hydraulic workovers, well testing and stimulation operations. An office-based role as a senior well engineer followed.</p>
<p>He was responsible for planning, programming and organising of all the well engineering and intervention work on a number of fields in the Middle East. He had a brief spell as a Site Representative for Santos in Australia before joining Petro-Canada as Completions Superintendent in Syria, then moved to Australia as Completions Operations Superintendent for Santos, before returning to Shell as Field Supervisor Completions and Well Interventions in Iraq where he carried out the first ever formal abandonment of a well in the Majnoon Field. While working on rotation, he regularly taught Completion Practices, Well Intervention, Well Integrity and Reporting &amp; Planning courses all over the world. In 2014, he started to focus 100% on training and became the Technical Director for PetroEDGE.</p>
<p>Since commencing delivering training courses in 2008, he has taught over 300 courses in 31 cities in 16 countries to in excess of 3,500 participants.</p>

<h2>About this training course</h2>
<p>This 5-days comprehensive training course provides not only an introduction into the issues associated with the development of the pipeline transportation of CO2 from its Capture, it's transportation, storage and usage but also provides an in depth understanding of the issues to be considered in the development, design and operations of these pipelines. The theme throughout this training course is CO2 Flow Assurance and Innovative Technologies.</p>
<p>Each training day will consist of lectures in the morning and a hands-on workshop in the afternoon. The workshop allows the participants to appreciate the design process associated with CO2 transport and its operations. Various software will be available during the workshop to predict thermo hydraulics and associated phase flows through CO2 pipelines and the attached infrastructure. Further software to assess surge and environmental safety will also be available. The CO2 pipeline design approach will consider an integrated solution through modelling the CO2 capture system as well as the host storage facility. </p>
<p>The participants will have a total appreciation of the methodology required to develop a CO2 transportation system and have an understanding of all of the Flow Assurance, risks, and operating issues and technology requirements.</p>

Understanding and using the Visual Infusion Phlebitis score.
7 - Equipment - overview:
We take a look at all essential equipment required for PIVC.
8 - PRACTICAL SESSIONS:
Multiple practical sessions throughout the session.

Our Peripheral IV Cannulation Course and Injection Course training kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available for you to add at time of booking. Training kits mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video instructions, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for your one full day to complete your cannulation and injection course training.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your cannulation course and one for your injection course. Kits are included at no charge (normally £79.95 and £39.95 respectively) and are yours to keep and to continue to practice with after you have finished your courses. The equipment and supplies included in your kits are the same as those used if you choose the classroom option.

If you are new to intuitive creativity, and The Soul Shed approach to exploring, know that you need no experience to participate in these sessions apart from in being you! Bring your curiosity and imagination, and the forest clearing will contain what you need, as a map and a mirror to learn about yourself in a gentle non-intrusive way.
