This course is intended for anyone who has already undertaken a basic body massage course training and would like to further their understanding of unresolved trauma, including domestic abuse, and PTSD, in order to better treat their clients.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
To develop your understanding of the role, skills and qualities of a successful massage therapist in relation to the client who has experienced domestic abuse, rape or is suffering with PTSD following any kind of trauma
To understand the precautions you should take as a therapist when treating a client who has been through trauma
To extend your knowledge of the physiological aspects of PTSD and be able to recognise both physical and psychological symptoms
To understand the physical and mental health benefits of massage therapy for the client who has experienced domestic abuse or is suffering with PTSD
To understand the effect of shock on the client who has been through a traumatic event

To learn about the link between PTSD and skin conditions
