Drug & Alcohol Awareness (Substance Misuse)

Description

This course is developed for staff and volunteers to raise awareness of drug and alcohol misuse issues and are adequately informed and enabled to work effectively with individuals with dependencies. 

Course Aims:

• Discuss substance misuse, and addiction 
• Examines how compulsive misuse of substances harms psychologically the service user including legal and illegal substances 
• Further learners understanding of both psychological and physical dependency and all other commonalities associated with addictions 
• Sign-posting services & how to support
