Start My Biz - Free Online Workshop

An&nbsp;exciting&nbsp;creative collaboration between two Edinburgh artists which combines learning how to print your own papers with how to make your own books.
Two Arienas Collective artists - bookbinder Cass Barron and printmaker Lou Davis - team up for this treat of an exclusive, online workshop which celebrates colour, texture, mark making and bookbinding.
A series of step-by-step video tutorials will encourage you to experiment with a range of simple but effective printmaking techniques to create a one-of-a-kind A5 sized junk journal, which makes for a great sketchbook, memory book, diary or gift for someone special.&nbsp;
Lou will show you how to make a DIY gel&nbsp;plate, and share some of her favourite vege-gel&nbsp;printing techniques, including how to&nbsp;create&nbsp;your own stencils and use&nbsp;found objects to make unusual textures. She will also share her tips on how to get the most out of a limited colour pallete, and give you some guidance on colour mixing and composition.
Once you have created a series of prints onto different papers, envelopes and pre-loved materials such as old maps and book pages, Cass will show you how to transform these into a beautiful, colourful A5 Journal&nbsp;with exposed spine and decorative cross stitch binding.
At the end of the course you&rsquo;ll have a wide range of mark-making techniques under your belt that can be applied to everything from bookbinding and card making, to printing your own wrapping paper. You&rsquo;ll also be equipped with all the skills you need to make eye-catching, colourful books that make great personal journals, and unique gifts for birthdays, Christmas and other celebrations. &nbsp;

On this virtual workshop, Paul McGowran, will show delegates how to live a life free from Anxiety. Paul will help delegates identify the ‘future’ nature of anxiety and the negative emotions involved. By introducing some basic techniques for resolving anxiety, Paul will help delegates begin the process of overcoming their own anxiety. These quick, effective techniques helped me rebuild my resilience, reclaim my sense of self and navigate challenges with renewed strength. What is The SHARE Project?
The SHARE Project is built on a simple principle: you need to put your own oxygen mask on first!  By nurturing yourself, you’re better equipped to support your children. Through our four-week, live online workshop series, delivered via Zoom, you’ll discover practical tools to bring more calm and happiness into your daily life.
Here’s what you can expect:
Weekly Workshops:  Each week, we’ll introduce and practice a new tool designed to fit seamlessly into your life (just a few minutes a day, I promise!). These are not your typical “luxury spa day” suggestions — because let’s face it, who has time for that?  Instead, you’ll learn sustainable, go-to strategies that you can use anytime, anywhere, to boost your wellbeing, even in the midst of chaos.  You will also receive a mid-week email of encouragement between workshops and printables to help record and track your progress.
Ongoing Support:  In each session, we’ll review your progress, fine-tune your approach, and introduce the next tool.  This isn’t just a one-off workshop; it’s a journey of growth and connection.
Community Connection: You’ll be part of a supportive group of fellow SEN parents and carers who understand the unique challenges you face.  Together, we’ll share experiences, uplift each other, and grow stronger.

This online workshop introduces you to the technique of writing with a pointed calligraphy pen in two hours. It is ideal for testing the waters before committing to an entire course, as you can follow the instructions with a 2B pencil if you haven&#39;t yet got a calligraphy pen.During the two-hour session, you will get clear instructions and support to practice your first strokes using basic shapes and decorative strokes. The video will be available for a month after the session.&nbsp;
