This is a perfect introductory course to start your journey into leatherwork and bag making as you will experience the wide variety of tasks involved in the work. 1 day Pattern Cutting for Leather and Bags - The Basics

<p>This workshop is perfect for beginners or those wishing to refine their felting skills. During the day you will work from a favourite landscape photograph, which you will be able to choose and discuss in advance. By the end of the workshop you will have a finished piece of artwork to take home with you.</p>
<p>During the morning you will lay out the wool for your picture then in the afternoon wet felt the wool and create detail using needle felting techniques.&nbsp; You will be given full small group tuition and have the opportunity to use a wide variety of wool, fibres, textures and colours to add interest and enhance your work.</p>

You will learn the basics of leather craft for accessories and be introduced to techniques including machine stitching on leather, hand finishing leather, inserting hardware and decorative leather techniques. You will be working with a sustainably sourced lush vegetable tanned leather. She has also mentored many graduate trainees, taken workshops at the Knitting & Stitching show, volunteers as an art therapist and for the past 5 years, has been a workshop developer and leader for Textile and Art teachers on behalf of the Textile Skills Academy.

She has also mentored many graduate trainees, taken workshops at the Knitting & Stitching show, volunteers as an art therapist and for the past 5 years, has been a workshop developer and leader for Textile and Art teachers on behalf of the Textile Skills Academy.

<p>Decaying Structures in Knitting is an experimental knitting workshop, exploring ways to create holes and open surfaces using simple hand knitting techniques.&nbsp; Exploiting the properties of the fibre, the session will also look at creating eroded surfaces using both heat and chemicals methods.</p>

<li>Making patterns and random holes using casting on and off techniques</li>
<li>Using a heat gun to produce an eroded surface on synthetic materials</li>
<li>Applying devor&eacute; paste to knitting to create both textural and colour effects</li>
