My name is Heather and I have 2 children with SEN, mental health difficulties, and health difficulties. Both my children have been in mainstream school, gone through the EHC process and are now at Specialist Schools. I have had to deal with the challenges of getting diagnoses and EHC plans and getting the right school placements for both children. I have completed the IPSEA SEN legal training and have done lots of training on child mental health. I believe that by parents working together and working with the local authority, health and other services we can make a difference. I am a National Representative for the National Network of Parent Carer Forums- raising the voices of parent carers at a national level. I am also a Co-Chair of the West Midlands Region of Parent Carer Forums.
