Synthetic fabric can be turned into beautiful images of your own design, by using natural objects such as ferns, grasses, leaves, feathers old lace and cut paper.
This is an environmentally friendly form of dyeing fabric and can be manipulated and stitched into once you have created your fabric design.
All materials for this workshop will be provided but you are welcome to bring along your own materials. Fabric must be white or a light shade and be synthetic (man made) for a good print result.
You will also need a paper scissors and fabric scissors.
Alison Moger is a practising artist working with free - stitch, mixed media and print; her work will always have a recycling, environmental and family ethos at its heart. She is an avid collector of vintage textiles and domestic objects that show the passage of time and the human interaction. Due to Health and Safety precautions we are limiting class sizes to 8 people, for all of our sessions, for the time being.&nbsp;
PPE (face shields, gloves and aprons) and hand sanitiser will be available for all of our workshops.
Tea and coffee facilities will be available but you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our cafes or bakeries.

We can provide the sea glass or you can bring your own. We have had people who have found sea glass on a beach that has special meaning for them and this can be used if it is the right size, shape and texture.Our instructor, Louise, is fully qualified as a senior tutor and holds an Art Clay Higher Diploma and has been teaching sea glass jewellery making for over ten years. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced jeweller, Louise is on hand to help you create your own designs from silver clay and sea glass. You&#39;ll be guided by Louise to help you make at least three jewellery pieces depending upon size and complexity of your pieces for you to treasure and take away!&nbsp;Louise has a relaxed, informal approach with the aim of having fun as well as learning and creating lovely pieces of jewellery. There are three main methods to embed the sea glass in your jewellery piece:&nbsp;1) a stand alone silver bezel which clasps the sea glass&nbsp;2) a silver clay piece with a bezel added to clasp your sea glass&nbsp;3) a silver clay piece with a ring to hang the sea glass in a pendant.&nbsp;Depending upon the complexity of your pieces and what you want to make, you will normally use all three methods to make three different pieces.&nbsp;In her introduction, Louise will tell you about silver clay and will explain how the clay will become solid silver pieces of beautiful jewellery enhanced by the sea glass by the end of your course.In the course, as mentioned, you will try the three different methods to make three different pieces.1. &nbsp;Bezel claspYou will think about the design of your piece. You will learn how to prepare your sea glass and your bezel before placing the sea glass in the bezel. You will then clasp the bezel before finishing your piece with polishing and adding a ring if it is to be a necklace pendant.2. &nbsp;Bezel in silver clayYou will learn how to prepare your silver clay before embedding the bezel. You will follow the&nbsp;silver clay manufacturing process*&nbsp;before finally adding the sea glass into the clasp and applying the finishing touches to your piece.3. &nbsp; Silver clay sea glass hanging pendantYou will follow the&nbsp;silver clay manufacturing process*&nbsp;to make the silver clay pendant incorporating a hanging ring. - Treasure Hunt: Participants will receive a list of items to find over the two-week period. Items may include specific plants, animal tracks, insects, etc.

- Review of Treasure Hunt findings.
- Identification and discussion of items found.

- Provide a fun and interactive way to reinforce learning.
