Heat transfer workshop with Alison Moger
Synthetic fabric can be turned into beautiful images of your own design, by using natural objects such as ferns, grasses, leaves, feathers old lace and cut paper.
This is an environmentally friendly form of dyeing fabric and can be manipulated and stitched into once you have created your fabric design.
All materials for this workshop will be provided but you are welcome to bring along your own materials. Fabric must be white or a light shade and be synthetic (man made) for a good print result.
You will also need a paper scissors and fabric scissors.
Alison Moger is a practising artist working with free - stitch, mixed media and print; her work will always have a recycling, environmental and family ethos at its heart. She is an avid collector of vintage textiles and domestic objects that show the passage of time and the human interaction. Due to Health and Safety precautions we are limiting class sizes to 8 people, for all of our sessions, for the time being.&nbsp;
PPE (face shields, gloves and aprons) and hand sanitiser will be available for all of our workshops.
Tea and coffee facilities will be available but you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our cafes or bakeries.

Have a go at enamelling is a 3 hour workshop, suitable for complete beginners, enamelling on copper with kiln-fired vitreous enamel.&nbsp; Participants will experiment with various decorative techniques and will complete several pieces of jewellery to take home.
You don't need to bring anything for the workshop: as all materials are provided.&nbsp; We recommend wearing clothes that you don't mind getting messy and sturdy, closed toe shoes are best (not sandals).

TUTOR REGISTRATION We follow a highly-selective framework for registering all of our tutors. We undertake a number of checks on all applicants before they can register with us. Around 70% of our applicants are turned away, as they don&rsquo;t reach our stringent requirements; this ensures that our tutees will always receive an experienced, highly qualified tutor, with a proven track record, who is passionate about the language(s) they teach and/or the educational service(s) they provide. All tutors must have DBS Enhanced Disclosure before they are fully registered. TUTORING ARRANGEMENTS We tutor in the comfort of your home, your office, online (via Skype, Zoom or FaceTime), or at the home of one of our specialist tutors, at a time that is most convenient for you. We tutor Monday through to Saturday (inclusive), between 8.00am and 9.00pm. Travel costs are free for tutees living within a 3 mile radius of Bournemouth town centre. 50 pence per mile will be added to the tutoring rate thereafter. We currently tutor in person within a 10 mile radius of Bournemouth town centre, including Christchurch, Parkstone, Poole, Southbourne, Westbourne, Boscombe, Moordown, Winton, Charminster, Wimborne and Branksome. The course takes place at the Sustainable Home Centre in Poole. It is a mix of primarily classroom training and hands-on time with the equipment. It runs for 1 day, starting at 0900 and finishing at 17:30.It is suitable for electricians, plumbers, refrigeration engineers and heating engineers.&nbsp;There are no formal qualification requirements for attendance except for the online course mentioned below.The course covers both high and low capacity PLEASE NOTE: The DUK-H1 on-line Altherma product introduction course

Make your own beautiful hand made paper that can be used later for a small sketchbook or stitch into it to create a personal card or something suitable for framing.
All materials and equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring along pressed flowers grasses or flower seeds of your choice.
Alison Moger is a practising artist working with free - stitch, mixed media and print; her work will always have a recycling, environmental and family ethos at its heart.
Due to Health and Safety precautions we are limiting class sizes to 8&nbsp;people, for all of our sessions, for the time being.&nbsp;
PPE (face shields, gloves and aprons) and hand sanitiser will be available&nbsp;for all of our workshops.
Tea and coffee making facilities will be available but you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our local cafes or bakeries.

Laura studied law at university and spent over 20 years at Virgin Atlantic which allowed her to indulge her passion for reading whilst travelling.
On deciding to pursue a career in publishing, Laura joined the Darley Anderson Agency where she worked across the Women’s Fiction list, reading submissions, handling contracts and supporting authors on their path to publication and beyond.
She co-founded Greenstone Literary with Tanera Simons in 2024 and is excited to build a list of authors.
Laura is looking for commercial crime, thriller, suspense, bookclub, historical and romance fiction as well as select non-fiction.
Above everything she wants to be entertained. Laura is looking for a book you can’t wait to talk to someone about, in the same way as a new film or the latest release on Netflix. A book that engrosses her from the first page to the last, desperate for someone she knows to read so they can discuss as soon as possible.
It will always be an original hook that draws Laura in, a whole concept that can be summed up in one line that immediately stops her in my tracks and makes her think.
Character and voice is also crucial. Laura is a huge fan of Mick Herron’s Jackson Lamb, Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club cast and Lynda La Plante’s Jane Tennison. She would really love to see more strong, memorable women in crime. In bookclub fiction, voices that have stayed with her are Adduni in The Girl With The Louding Voice, Cyril in The Heart’s Invisible Furies and Molly in The Maid. Recently, Kitty in How To Kill Men and Get Away With It had Laura secretly rooting for her serial killer antics.
Laura loves to be engrossed by a pacy, twisty, surprising plot. It doesn’t need to be overly complex – sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. She wants to be thrown curveballs she never saw coming and be kept guessing until the last page. Books Laura has devoured are Nightwatching, The Housemaid, The Last Mrs Parrish, Fourth Wing, None of This is True and American Dirt.
Books that play with genre also capture Laura. Novels such as Wrong Place, Wrong Time which combined a crime mystery and the story of a mother’s love with a speculative element and The Time Traveller’s Wife, a high-concept love story which crossed time and age.
Laura is a huge fan of true crime and would love to read a fiction version of podcasts she has been gripped by. She really enjoys cold cases being reopened as a result of new evidence or technology which exposes past injustices such as on Bone Valley, In The Dark or Who Killed Emma? She is particularly drawn to stories of deep deception or ‘scams’ such as those by Anna Delvey or Coco Berthmann, Tinder Swindler or Fyre Festival. Laura is always intrigued by anything involving investigation into cults, such as in BBC Sound’s World of Secrets.
She also loves nothing more than sobbing her heart out over a book and being left emotionally wrung-out! Whether it be a devastating historical tragedy or star-crossed lovers torn apart by destiny. Books that have broken her heart include The Bridges of Madison County, The Kite Runner, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, Birdsong, My Sister’s Keeper, Cilka’s Journey and Four Winds.
In non-fiction, Laura is looking for an untold story or perspective or an unexplored area where you have expertise or real-life experience. As a reader of non-fiction she wants to be engaged in a relatable, accessible way. She loved the evocative settings and personal journeys in The Salt Path and The Wild Other. The laugh-out-loud More Than A Woman had her ordering this for many friends. Three Women and Educated are brilliant examples of non-fiction books that read like fiction. How do I attend?

EITHER -
CLASSROOM OPTION - Attend one of our scheduled classroom locations, completing your Introduction to Phlebotomy Course over 2 days. You will also complete your Advanced Training at the end of the first day and your Competency Training at the end of the second day.

Our Introduction to Phlebotomy and Advanced Phlebotomy Training Kits are supplied at no charge when booking our virtual classroom training option.
If you would like to add one or both of these kits to your classroom training option then these are available to add at time of booking. Our comprehensive training kits each mirror the same equipment and supplies used in the classroom and both include detailed video tutorials, allowing you to continue to practice and "hone" your skills after you have completed your practical training.

VIRTUAL CLASSROOM OPTION- Complete your theory training online at home or work, then join us for a one day Zoom session to complete your Introduction to Phlebotomy virtual classroom training, followed by your Advanced Training in the evening of the same day. You have the option to add a classroom-based competency session, awarding a CPD Accredited Geopace Certificate of Competency, at time of booking.

Our Virtual Classroom option includes two very comprehensive training kits - one for your introductory course and one for your advanced course. This workshop will builds the skills and confidence of tutors, trainers and assessors, to enable them to have conversations about mental health and wellbeing with their learners.
The course focuses on knowing how to better support your learners through effective communication will create an environment of trust and understanding. This course will enable you to:
Build positive relationships and rapport with your learners
Use a range of questioning techniques with your learners to have discussions about wellbeing
Being able to use effective questioning techniques
Develops active listening skills
Maintain confidentiality and know how to make referrals
