  • Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) workers and volunteers

As part of MS-UK’s work to raise awareness of MS, we are offering a FREE online MS Awareness session for community workers.

What is the session about?

The session will touch on:

  • What is MS?
  • Symptoms that may impact on wellbeing
  • A personal insight into living well with MS
  • Symptom management and wellness – what support to people with MS need?
  • MS-UK services and how we can support the MS community and their allies
  • How social prescribers/community workers can support people on their MS journey

What do other social prescribers have to say about MS-UK’s awareness sessions?

‘Well worth attending – good use of 1.5 social prescribing hours!’

‘My biggest take away was being provided with such a detailed insight into MS and all the tools needed to signpost a client with MS’

‘Fantastic informative session pitched at just the right level with plenty of helpful practical ideas to implement into our social prescribing services’

‘Exceptional webinar for anyone who has basic knowledge of MS. By far the most informative webinar I have attended all year, from overview of MS, possible causes, different stages of MS, symptoms, myth busting as well as support options available throughout individual health journeys. Cannot recommend enough!!’

‘I felt the training really gave me an understanding of what a patient with MS is feeling and going through, from initial concerns right through to years within their diagnosis. This made me feel far more equipped when trying to support a patient with MS as I have more of an insight into what support they may or may not be looking for.’

Who will be delivering the session?

All our work is driven by our organisational values and includes real voices of people living with MS. This session will be delivered by a member of our team in partnership with a volunteer with lived experience of MS.

Don’t worry if you can’t attend – we will be recording the session and sending it out to all those that have registered afterwards
