During this workshop we&#39;ll explore the paired energy systems of the Pericardium and Triple Heater.Normally assocated with the summer season, particularly the early part of the summer, this timely workshop will give you:<ol fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">the opportunity to find out more about these organs - from both a Western anatomical and Eastern energetic perspective,</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">the chance to learn a sequence of linked postures and breath designed to enliven the organs and associated energy lines</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">practice a guided heart-opening meditation.</li></ol>We&#39;ll also discuss how you can continue working with the energy of these organs in your everyday yoga practice.Suitable for all with an established yoga practice of any description. She will also demonstrate the plastic entrapment method she will be using for her workshop on Wednesday 6th November and show some finished examples. This will entail some layering of fabric, soldering and free machine embroidery and some ideas regarding ways of displaying the finished piece.

Sketchbooks are for more than just sketching! In this series of workshops, we&rsquo;ll explore ways of using a sketchbook to experiment, research, and develop your own creative ideas, leading you towards developing your own unique body of work. Incorporating drawing, painting, collage, writing, and crafting, this workshop will get you trying new things in a small, welcoming group all summer long.During the live Zoom sessions, we&#39;ll try out specific ways of using your sketchbook to develop creative ideas. You&#39;ll also have a chance to share what you&#39;ve been working on, and be inspired by the work of others (sharing is encouraged but always completely optional). In between live sessions, we&rsquo;ll fill our sketchbooks up with writing and images prompted by a series of creative assignments which will have us out exploring the natural and built environment (although many of them can also be completed from the comfort of home).Each participant will be encouraged to deepen their explorations in whatever direction interests them most - be it a series of written reflections, sketches, collages, photographs, mixed-media pieces, or a unique, personal combination of all these.This small-group course includes six live sessions (via Zoom) with Julie, and &lsquo;homework assignments&rsquo; for participants to complete in between live sessions. There will be an optional Facebook group for participants to stay connected and share their creations with each other between sessions. You are welcome to join in from any place in the world. The group will be kept small to ensure plenty of opportunities for interaction, sharing, and feedback.

If so, join us on our Free 3-Session Online Learning Taster Course, an introduction to our January-start degrees. This course has been designed to give you a taste of what it is like to study with us virtually, as well as giving you tailored support for your university application. You will get a virtual art university experience, and a chance to meet some of the lecturers for the subjects you are interested in studying.
You’ll get an insight into how our January-start degrees are taught, how you submit work and how you can develop your skills. This course has been designed to help you feel equipped to commence your studies in January 2025, on one of our January-start degrees.

Session 2 - Wednesday 20 November 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Experience a live lecture from Jason Hirons, our Course Leader for Distance Learning. This interactive session will give you a preview of what it's like to be part of our dynamic online distance learning course, engage with course content and ask questions in real time.

Session 3 - Wednesday 18 December 2024, 3 hrs / 8:45am - 11:45am
Enjoy an informative and engaging session led by the Adam Levi, our Senior Learning Technologist and all-round expert in tools for digital education. In this session, you'll gain valuable insights into navigating Canvas, our online learning platform, ensuring you feel confident in managing your coursework, accessing resources, and participating in discussions. You'll also have the opportunity to engage in an interactive workshop designed to enhance your learning experience.
As a student on one of our January-start degrees, you’ll join a truly global community of creative learners. This hybrid degree allows you to complete your first year of studies remotely by July 2025, before taking a short summer break and then continuing straight on to the second year of your chosen degree, studying in-person at our city-centre Plymouth campus, in September 2025.
