The IBBSS looks forward to giving our guests a warm welcome. The quality of the faculty virtually ensures a high-octane adventure for everyone involved. Located at University of Wales, Swansea, which overlooks the majestic panorama of Swansea Bay, all participants will be spoilt for choice both in the realm of music and holidaying options on offer. As in any learning situation, the bottom line rests with the quality of the faculty, and in this case, it is as good as it gets anywhere in the world. Each member of the faculty is internationally renowned, not only for their musical and performance expertise but also their social skills, a consequence of a regular diet of globe-trotting, performing and conducting master-classes to people of all ages and abilities. It was famously said of the Artistic Director, Dr. Nicholas Childs, that if he had played the cello rather than the euphonium, his name would have been Rostropovich. He is now perhaps more widely known as Artistic Director of the world-famous Black Dyke Band. Meanwhile, the instrumental tutors represent the cream of Britain’s incredibly talented core of brilliant instrumentalists: the incredible Tom Hutchinson from The Cory Band, Daniel Thomas, Richard Marshall and Brett Baker from Black Dyke, Freelance soloist Owen Farr and Gary Curtin from the Fodens Band. Under their expert tutelage you will be given the opportunity to explore new repertoire, meet new friends and generally have a fantastic time. For those applicants who possess an overwhelming desire to seriously improve their all-round playing skills and musical understanding, then, without doubt, they have chosen wisely, for the fixed intention is to provide them with a learning experience of a lifetime, whilst still allowing time and space for holiday fun. If the aim is to balance a general improvement in overall playing standards with making new like-minded friends, whilst enjoying a little more time in the sun amidst great surroundings, then look no further. In short, everyone enrolled in the summer course will be able to design a great banding holiday with precisely as much music making as is desired. The International Brass Band Summer School also caters for non-participating and non-residential visitors. For those who want to brush up on their brass band skills whilst their partners soak up the sun in a sublime environment, rest assured, this will resemble Christmas in the summer.

Each course offers 34 weekly, term time sessions, and various levels of books, workshops, recitals and event tickets. The yearly total is then split into 12 equal payments, taken from September to August via GoCardless on the 3rd of the month. Generally speaking, two monthly payments covers one half term of the course: Autumn term 1st half: September and October Payments Autumn term 2nd half: November and December Payments Spring term 1st half: January and February Payments Spring term 2nd half: March and April Payments Summer term 1st half: May and June Payments Summer term 2nd half: July and August Payments Termination of lessons Notice can be given to finish at the end of a full term or half term, and payments will then be terminated according to the timeline above. Notice can be verbal, but needs to be recieved at least one week before the end of the term or half term at which the student wishes to cease lessons. This is to allow staff the time to ensure continuity for others and fill empty spaces. Catch Up Lessons Catch up weeks are reserve weeks at the end of term that we use in the event of a session being cancelled due to teacher illness or other distruption. Catch ups will be given in the following circumstances: FunKeys, Foundation, Creative, Kinetic: Catch ups are only given in the event of teacher cancellation Academy, Adult sessions: Catch ups can also be requested by a student, providing they have given at least 48 hours notice of cancellation, and only once per term. All catch ups are at the discretion of the teacher, and in some circumstances it may only be teacher-cancelled lessons that recieve catch ups. If a teacher cancels a lesson and cannot offer this back during catch up week, a refund will be offered for that session.

union academy

Union Academy is a K-12 tuition-free NC public charter school. Admission is lottery based and is open to any school-aged student in North Carolina. Please see our Admissions page for more information about the lottery process. To define what makes Union Academy an important place to so many is not an easy task. It may have been the special spirit of starting a new venture that so many experienced in the spring and summer of 2000. Or it may be the challenge of being a part of helping to make everything happen on a daily basis. Or it may be the spirit of collaboration and trust that has become ever so apparent as the school has developed. One thing is for certain, UA is a special place because it is populated by special people. One of our UA Board members put it this way, “The spirit of Union Academy is embodied in people who are willing to do whatever needs to be done.” That spirit of collaboration and selflessness together with an extraordinary emphasis on academic challenge, community service, and the development of strong character certainly defines UA.

Holistic Therapist and Yogi - helping you achieve good health though natural therapies and Yoga. Totally Holistic Health was founded by myself, Julie Elder in 2005. I specialise in providing complementary therapy services.  These include Yoga, Bowen, Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy, Kinesiology,  Reflexology and Reiki.  I am based in Cheadle Hulme covering the North Cheshire and South Manchester area. I have always had an interest in Natural Health even from an early age.  After years of working in a corporate environment and seeing the stresses and strains it placed on the body, health and wellbeing I was confident that I needed a change of direction. The ideal opportunity came when my son started school.  This was when I decided to retrain as a therapist.  Within 6 weeks of starting my course I discovered I was pregnant with my daughter – who said that stress doesn’t affect fertility!! I completed the first year of my course, gave birth to my daughter in the summer and continued with the second year with baby in tow.  I still however managed to achieve a college award and distinctions in my HND in Health and Complementary Therapies.  The course gave me a fantastic grounding in all aspects of working in a therapeutic environment.  This included counselling skills; psychology; sociology; diet and nutrition; anatomy and physiology. I also became qualified  Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Swedish Massage and Indian head Massage. My knowledge and determination has never wavered.   I love learning new skills, therapies and gaining new knowledge. Since qualifying in 2005 I have become qualified as a Reiki master; Advanced Bowen practitioner; Baby Massage instructor; Kinesiologist to diploma level and also hold qualifications in Pregnancy Massage; Tibetan Acupressure Head Massage; Natural face Lift Massage and Mindfulness. I am also enhancing my lifelong love of Yoga and have trained as a Yoga Teacher to enhance the treatments I can offer you. Having recently seen the devastating mental health issues after two years of coronavirus and lockdowns I also wanted to offer a supportive service to help with this too so embarked on an amazing Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy course which I completed in 2022.  I am so pleased to be able this awesome modality to my therapy arsenal. Customer service is very important to me and I try to follow up each client’s treatment. Also maintaining and updating my training regularly helps me add additional skills and knowledge to help you receive the best help and advice I can give.

We started Progress in the Summer of 2012. The brand started in Manchester, England. We take great pride in being from Manchester and the city's culture and history influences a lot of our designs. James Tighe (a then blue belt) started the brand with his close friends and family, all of whom a decade later are still part of the company. We all shared one thing in common, an unbelievable passion for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We fell in love with the sport and our dream was to one day quit our jobs and work on the brand full time, being involved with the Jiu Jitsu community, to help it grow as much as we could. This dream became our goal. The brand name perfectly represented how we felt about the sport, and us as people. It's all about the Progress you make. We put less emphasis on winning at all costs, and more on improvement. We genuinely want our customers and fans to be the best they can possibly be, on and off the mats, and the essence of our brand is to try our best to make that happen, through our products, our content, our athletes, our projects and everything else we do.
