Suitability - Who should attend?
Who Should Attend and Why?
Who? - This is for any level of Manager or Leader (regardless of hierarchical position) and those expected to step into managerial or leadership roles in the next 12 to 18 months.
Why? - From our experience, most new managers and leaders are rarely given proper management or leadership training before their first appointment. If you think about it, this is inviting problems! How can you expect someone to step up from being one of the team to managing the team (or another team) without proper training?
Very few organisations do this, but those who continue to do this for all their rising talent say it produces benefits and helps everything work smoothly. They would not continue to run these programmes with us if it were not.
When asked why they have these programmes annually, they mostly say it gives prospective managers and leaders the understanding of how to deal with people and understand how everyone else will be managing and leading their people too. They also want them to have time to practice the skills before they take up their new positions.

Introduction to monoprinting

These practices impact the body and mind, helping to reduce stress and improve our overall well-being, as well as rid our minds of the clutter that blocks our progress allowing us to be at our most creative.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Local yoga teacher and creative collaborator Jo Harbisher will share beginner-friendly yoga practices. On this 3-hour workshop we explore how yoga techniques can enhance our creative practice. 
Yoga is designed to cultivate mindfulness, focus and inner peace through physical asanas (postures), breath control and meditation. These practices impact the body and mind, helping to reduce stress and improve our overall well-being, as well as rid our minds of the clutter that blocks our progress allowing us to be at our most creative.
Local yoga teacher and creative collaborator Jo Harbisher will share beginner-friendly yoga practices. Over a course of three sessions - which can also be booked individually - we will explore the synergies between these two ancient disciplines, and how they can help us discover untapped reservoirs of creative potential.

At the end of each session we will pause to record any thoughts, words and images that came to mind during the morning. 

Session One - Chair Yoga 
This workshop aims to explore the connection between settling the mind and body to enhance your creative flare. We will start with grounding, feeling connected to the earth, breathwork to help quieten down the mind and rejuvenate the body, movement through the form of chair yoga, a beautiful guided meditation and perhaps a yoga nidra to close.
Session Two - Roll & Release
This is a fun workshop rejuvenating the body using therapy balls to self massage, roll and release any aches and pains and learn about fascia, the connective tissue in the body for improved mobility and awareness. There will be a guided meditation, and an opportunity to enjoy the stillness in savasana. (Therapy balls will be provided by Jo.)
Session Three - Yoga Nidra

PM meetings are often treated with little importance and an almost tick-box attitude. With EI, you can reach for the sky, but without EI, your dreams will die. If team members are unaware (or don&rsquo;t care) that their behaviour negatively impacts others, they will continue to behave like that. When we become self-aware, we have the opportunity to behave differently, which is a really important moment as the team needs to know how to encourage this positive behaviour.</span></p><p style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: var(--text);"><span style="color: rgb(32, 56, 100); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(32, 56, 100);">High-performing teams (HPTs) are united in their approach. No one is left behind, everyone is vigilant of each other, and mental health check-ins are a daily ritual, not just a task. This level of cohesion is not a coincidence but a result of leaders and managers fostering a culture of care and support within a psychologically safe environment.</span></p><p style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: var(--text);"><span style="color: rgb(32, 56, 100); box-sizing: border-box;" fr-original-style=" color: rgb(32, 56, 100);">HPTs operate as a collective unit, with minimal need for a Team Manager or Leader. <p id="isPasted" fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">We start the year with a much-welcome focus on our skincare and wellbeing with this new workshop from The Scottish Soapworks.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">On this 2.5 hour session, Jenny will take you through the benefits of 3 tried and tested recipes for making:</p><ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">a natural antibacterial Tea Tree nail cream</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">an anti-inflammatory, cleansing and invigorating Peppermint and Eucalyptus foot cream, and</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">a calming and relaxing Lavender and Rosemary hand and body cream.</li></ul><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">You will work with a carrot oil cream base, which is rich in Vitamin C, and have the option of blending up to 3 personal fragrances from a selection of oils including Lemongrass, Orange, Lemon, Lime, Musk or Grapefruit if you prefer.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">You will take home approximately 375g of hand-blended cream split across 3 beautiful, refillable glass Kilner style jars. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in being creative.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us.&nbsp;</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise, plus light refreshments (a selection of Shibui teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet or savoury snacks). The Arienas Collective workshops, courses and events are run from a supportive and welcoming home-based environment within a Georgian mews home in Edinburgh’s City Centre New Town. We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in being creative.
Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us. 
All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise, plus light refreshments (a selection of Shibui teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet or savoury snacks). On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out; or there are a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, cafés, and restaurants, plus supermarkets, within a 5-10 minute walk.
PLEASE NOTE: Our workshop space is on the first-floor of a Georgian mews building and unfortunately we do not have lift access. The workshop space is in our home which is not nut free. Please let us know of any skin or food allergies before booking.
Private workshop bookings
Most of our workshops are also available to book for small private get-togethers; themed wedding and birthday celebrations; corporate team building and well-being purposes; and as in-store retail events. For larger groups, many of our workshops can be brought to a location of your choice. 
Age restrictions
Our workshops are planned with adults in mind. Many are suitable for teenagers, but some may require under 16s to be accompanied for insurance purposes. Please check with us before booking.

Chynna is the founder and CEO of Matriarch Made Development, a consulting firm that helps organizations develop high performing administrative teams and identify and address overall operating structure
and events logistics inefficiencies. From helping leaders figure out their onboarding, communication flow, event logistics and how to further develop the talents of their teams, Chynna supports leading organizations in creating a systematic approach to tackling business/events challenges and bottlenecks.
Prior to Matriarch Made, Chynna worked in the personal office of Barack and Michelle Obama as their Director of Travel and Event Operations. Her career also includes administrative roles at Disney and the White House where she served as “body woman” to Mrs. Obama during the Obama Administration.
Chynna graduated from University of Florida with a B.S. in Event Management and Political Science and a minor in Business. She currently resides in Washington, DC with her wife, Retired Naval Chief Petty Officer, Katina Hoyles.

Kate is a business owner, qualified coach, consultant, facilitator, trainer, podcaster and public speaker with a background in learning & development, employee engagement strategy, continuous improvement, communications and marketing. After 25 years working across the board in blue-chip, non-profit and civil service organisations she now provides support to businesses looking to evolve and become great places for people to work in and with. 
Having worked with a wide variety of clients from school-age students to senior executives, she has been designing and running workshops, seminars and classes in person or via web events since she left long commutes and corporate roles behind in 2014 when she created her first two businesses. Her passion is in improving working relationships between roles and functions, supporting people to discover how to be their best selves at work. She does this in the auto-motive industry, financial services, medical teams, charities, global media, retail, education systems and the arts.
When she’s not working, she and her classic car Monty Morgan can be found zipping around the English countryside.

These quick, effective techniques helped me rebuild my resilience, reclaim my sense of self and navigate challenges with renewed strength. What is The SHARE Project?
The SHARE Project is built on a simple principle: you need to put your own oxygen mask on first!  By nurturing yourself, you’re better equipped to support your children. Through our four-week, live online workshop series, delivered via Zoom, you’ll discover practical tools to bring more calm and happiness into your daily life.
Here’s what you can expect:
Weekly Workshops:  Each week, we’ll introduce and practice a new tool designed to fit seamlessly into your life (just a few minutes a day, I promise!). These are not your typical “luxury spa day” suggestions — because let’s face it, who has time for that?  Instead, you’ll learn sustainable, go-to strategies that you can use anytime, anywhere, to boost your wellbeing, even in the midst of chaos. A talk with NIKKI PARMENTER - Textiles/Mixed Media Artist
TUESDAY 15TH OCTOBER
START TIME: 7.00pm 
Join our TEA ’N CHAT with Textile Artist Nikki Parmenter, who will talk about her work, explaining some of the techniques she uses.
She will also demonstrate the plastic entrapment method she will be using for her workshop on Wednesday 6th November and show some finished examples. This will entail some layering of fabric, soldering and free machine embroidery and some ideas regarding ways of displaying the finished piece. 

Nikki taught art for 30 years to secondary school children, and having left full time work in 2016 , has been providing talks, demonstrations, summer schools, workshops to schools, groups and societies. She is a member of various art and textile groups.
She exhibits her work widely and has written a number of articles for both magazines and online sites. She is based in Cheshire and specialises in mixed media textile pieces, taking inspiration from a variety of sources and particularly interested in the way societies created a series of visual symbols to represent the things which were important to them. She investigates myths, legends, stories and beliefs. She is also inspired by art, architecture and artefacts.
