QA Level 2 Award In CitizenAID (RQF)

5.0(50)

By Pochat Training

This QA Level 2 Award in citizenAID (RQF) course is a half-day course to teach the skills and knowledge needed in case one finds themselves in the middle of a terrorist attack. The skills are also usable in any event where there might be either multiple or severely injured people. PAST ATTENDEES SAID:  Attended the citizen aid course this week, absolutely brilliant. Whilst we all hope that we are never involved in a major incident, the big question though would be are we prepared, what would we do? This course discusses various incidents and some are uncomfortable to think about, but if something happened most people panic, after this course you are likely to stay calm, take control and above all save lives. This course is for everyone due to the current threats in the world, However large companies especially should consider training their staff, it may save your life or someone close to you. Highly recommended, well presented and really interesting. BENEFITS OF THIS COURSE: * Following several terrorist attacks that have claimed the lives of countless victims and left many in hospital with critical injuries, both in the UK and abroad, it has been clear that normal, everyday people can save each other's lives with the right levels of training * This course, together with the citizenAID Phone App [https://www.citizenaid.org/home] and a pocket guide, has been designed by both highly experienced military and civilian clinicians * This course will teach you what to do during a terrorist-related, or 'simply' a serious accident, where casualties can suffer from severe trauma. It is specifically designed to help people react safely, prioritise the injured and give life-saving first aid to the casualties * RUN - HIDE - TELL - TREAT * Watch this short, 4 ½ minute video by the Counter Terrorism Police UK on how to stay as safe as possible during firearms and weapons attacks * Whether work is causing or aggravating mental health problems, employers have a legal responsibility toward their employees * Fortunately, these events are rare, but when they do happen, being prepared can save your life, and that of others * Where a risk is identified, steps must be taken to remove it or reduce it as far as reasonably practicable * This half-day course gives people a good awareness of mental health in the workplace * Better still, of course, is to do this citizenAID course with us, which will help a lot more! COURSE CONTENTS * Active shooter or knife attacker scenario * Shooting incident * Suspect bombs * Exploded bomb * Casualty first look * Severe bleeding * Tourniquets * Haemostatic Dressings * Unresponsive casualty * Broken Bones * Burns * Casualty handover ACCREDITED, OFQUAL REGULATED QUALIFICATION Our citizenAID course is a nationally recognised, Ofqual regulated qualification accredited by Qualsafe Awards and taught by an experienced trainer. This means that you can rest assured that your citizenAID training is of high quality. The Ofqual Register number for this course is 603/1934/3.

Wudang Taiji Sword - Sevenoaks, Kent

By Taiji & Qigong (London & Kent)

* Notes on the Wudang Taiji Sword Class Both the Monday 6.05pm class in Euston, and the Thursday 6.35pm class in Sevenoaks will be continuing the Wudang Taiji (Tai Chi) Sword. The set of movements falls into ‘Sections’ and we have only done sections 1 & 2 (out of 6). If you’d like to join, we will be mainly working on the 2nd & 3rd Section but will also constantly be revising Section 1. It’s therefore not too late to join. This uses the double-edged sword (‘jian’), and if you’d like to try the class out you are welcome to borrow a sword. We’ll be taking time in getting through the set of movements, and if you’ve never tried any weapon form before, this is a great one to try out to expand your repertoire. The Wudang Taiji Sword Form is a lively form with both slow and fast movements. This is a 13-week term.

Thistle Aikikai is a member of the Scottish and Borders Birankai under the technical direction of T.K Chiba Shihan. The Chief Instructor, Michael Flynn Shihan began his study of Aikido in 1982 at San Diego Aikikai under the direction of Shihan TK Chiba. He was named Shihan in June of 2005 and was awarded 7th Dan by Doshu Ueshiba Moriteru on 14 January 2018 during the Kagami Baraki celebration at Hombu Dojo. He was formally awarded his Shihan Certificate in a ceremony at Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo in November 2006 by the second Doshu, Ueshiba Moriteru. He has also received Iaido Shihan title from Mitsuzuka Sensei. Since arriving in Scotland, Flynn Sensei has established the Thistle Aikikai. He serves as the Chairman and Technical Director of Scottish and Borders Birankai. Thisle Aikikai offers beginner through to advanced classes in Aikido and weapons. All are welcome. Instruction in Iaido , the art of drawing the sword and striking a killing blow, is also offered at Thistle Aikikai. In Iaido, students learn to use the sword not merely as a tool for cutting down one’s enemy, but as a method of allowing the mind and body to become more harmonious with nature. During training, students will learn the forms of the Muso Shinden Ryu Iai as developed by Nakayama Hakudo Sensei, with a goal toward synchronizing their breathing and body motions within the techniques in order to understand and practice the efficient use of the body. The club trains at the Iain Nicolson Recreation Centre, Chryston Road, Chryston, G69 9NA and the UFC Hall, G69 9ND (near Glasgow), Scotland (Phone 01326 631465). See below for a map.
