Join us for a fun and eco-friendly event where you can learn to create a sustainable Sketchbook/Notebook from recycled Packing Paper.

Are you ready to start a sketchbook? Do you want to be able to use it as a tool for your work and ideas? Do you dream of getting an interview or exam ready, but don't know where to begin? We've got the answer! Our Sketchbook Workshop will help you get started, develop your ideas and help you refine what you already do. We'll help you create a personalised action plan, provide a personalised sketchbook checklist and give you tons of tips and tricks to help you get the most out of your sketchbook and upcoming opportunities.

Join artist and writer Julie Galante for this creative exploration of the season. Combining visual art, writing, and crafting, this workshop will get you trying new things in a small, welcoming group all summer long. Each week we’ll cover specific creative techniques and apply them to our investigations of the world around us. We’ll fill our sketchbooks up with writing and images prompted by a series of creative assignments which will have us out exploring the natural and built environment (although many of them can also be completed from the comfort of home). Each participant will be encouraged to deepen their explorations in whatever direction interests them most - be it a series of written reflections, sketches, collages, photographs, mixed-media pieces, or a unique, personal combination of all these. This small-group workshop includes four live sessions (via Zoom) with Julie, and ‘homework assignments’ for participants to complete in between live sessions. There will be an optional Facebook group for participants to stay connected and share their creations with each other between sessions. Julie will be journalling in her home city of Edinburgh, and you are welcome to join in from any place in the world. The group will be kept small to ensure plenty of opportunities for interaction, sharing, and feedback.

Our workshops are centered around your interests and needs, so whether you want to learn new skills or gain inspiration for your next project, we'll help you find it. You can find inspiration in the studio or the beautiful countryside it sits in. You'll leave feeling confident to carry on at home

Are you ready to design for the metaverse? We will introduce you to working digitally and take you through the process of developing a fashion project through the use of technology. It will cover idea development, research, digital sketchbook creation, experimental draping (in CLO 3D), digital print design, garment design (CLO 3D), and final outcome presentation. CLO 3D is a software used to create virtual garments and as a sustainable sampling method by many fashion brands. By the end of the week, you will have produced a collection of 2 looks, incorporating your own print designs and presented in a setting you have created; as well as a documentation of the process. This course is inclusive of male and gender-neutral designs. You will learn: • Idea development and research • Digital sketchbook creation • CLO 3D software (experimental drapinig and garment design) • Digital print design Whilst learning valuable skills such as: • Communication • Fashion design • Fabric knowledge • Embellishment • Accuracy • Machine and hand sewing You will leave with: • Design development files • Two digital looks and print designs • Digital landscape created by you • A digital certificate of completion What You Need: • Students must arrive with packed lunches, snacks and a re-usable bottle of water each day. • Laptops required for this programme. Sketchbook club, social and creative meet up.

Make your own beautiful hand made paper that can be used later for a small sketchbook or stitch into it to create a personal card or something suitable for framing. All materials and equipment will be provided but you are welcome to bring along pressed flowers grasses or flower seeds of your choice.

We've got over 20 years of experience teaching design and art students, so we know exactly what it takes to produce work that stands out from the crowd. Our workshops are designed for people who want to know how to prepare for interviews, how to use their portfolio as a marketing tool for their own products, and how to present their work in the best possible light. Our company founder has interviewed for both jobs and degree level courses. She knows what questions they're going ask—and she knows exactly how to answer them!
