Ushering The Team Back To The Workplace

By Dickson Training Ltd

Most organisations and businesses are trying to navigate the best way back to a functional working framework. But two things need to happen - 1. The working practices need to be efficient, sustainable and compatible for meeting the demands and needs of the organisation; it’s clients, it’s workforce and it’s Leaders 2. The culture needs to be welcoming, authentic and supportive otherwise there will be disenfranchisement and potentially a churn of staff and loss of talent What has been proven to be a very successful approach to mitigate the dangers of demotivated team members and poor efficiency levels is a bespoke ‘Ushering the Team Back to the Workplace’ workshop. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PROGRAMME OUTLINE Below is a template of an actual Programme that has been delivered very successfully for clients such as the NHS; Claranet; Jotun Paints & Workspace. This, however, can be modified to suit any group or size. It will be designed to reflect the Organisation’s preferred Hybrid working framework and communication systems. The options of having the innovative Real Play technique to help handle delicate conversations is especially effective. The biggest gain is to reconnect the relationships via the activities and exercises, which would be selected carefully. Key commitments and buy-in is always the priority outcomes - which this programme will help deliver in just 1 day. This involves devising a sequence between the group to achieve maximum results without making any mistakes. We introduce different balls which represent different degrees of complexity, challenging the group’s preparation and approach to a variety ‘customers’ needs. DEBRIEFING POINTS: * Ensuring effective communication * Clarifying the approach for dealing with the unexpected * Setting expectations and reviewing delivery * Treating every colleague with care and respect TUTORIAL - EMAIL ETIQUETTE * The primary standards – best practices * ABSURD model * Preparation and planning * Top Tips WORLD CAFE The team are split into 5-6 sub-groups – each with a specific review focus:- * What recommendations do you have to engage the team back into the Workplace? * How do we ensure the framework is efficient? * What are the best ways to optimise team working strategically when most/all team members are in the office? * What potential barriers are there? * How do we accommodate for the Regional team members? * What are the benefits to bringing the team back to the workplace? Each session has 2 – 3 rounds with each table’s ‘host’ sharing feedback for applying to the Team Action Plan – or Charter. DEBRIEFING POINTS: * Each Syndicate’s recommendations and capture the key actions they generate 'REAL PLAY' We offer an innovative solution to bring real Leadership/team scenarios to life. We use actors who improvise scenarios which have been specified by the group. * The group is split the group into 2 sub-groups, one with the Actor, the other with the Trainer. * Each group has a brief and has to instruct their Trainer/Actor on how to approach the scenario supplied. * The Actor and Trainer perform the role play(s) as instructed by their respective teams; however, during the action they can be paused for further recommendations or direction. * The outcome is the responsibility of the team(s) – not the performers Assign 24 x ‘Directors’ (4 for each Player – Phil & Julia – for each Real Play. Gwma

gwma

Leicester

GWMA is a mixed martial arts system which is based in Mountsorrel Leicestershire. As a mixed martial art, GWMA’s main influences are Shotokan/Goshin Ryu karate with elements of Kung Fu. Gavin Walker is the chief instructor with 34 years’ experience in martial arts and has been running his classes for 10 years. We believe that learning martial arts should be an enjoyable experience and can benefit anyone in the following ways: 1. Self-Discipline – One of the central tenets of martial arts is a focus on self-discipline. Today’s kids are so accustomed to receiving instant gratification that lessons in self-restraint and discipline aren’t always easy to come by. Kids with a martial arts background, however, are continually reminded of how essential self-discipline is. 2. Boosting Socialization Skills – People who don’t always thrive in highly social environments may find it easier to get to know people and make new friends when they’re in a room filled with peers who share a common interest. The kids on the playground may not always have much common ground, but devotees to the martial arts are able to get to know one another through shared pursuits. 3. Encouraging Physical Activity – In todays technology based environment where most things are at a touch of a button, enrolling into a physical enjoyable activity can inspires yourself to keep moving and become fitter as a consequence. 4. Learning to Set and Achieve Goals – Most forms of martial arts are based around an accomplishment system of coloured belts that signify the wearer’s degree of skill. When your child or as an adult strives toward each new belt, they are learning valuable lessons about setting and reaching goals. 5. Increased Self-Esteem – Confidence comes with achievement, so your self-esteem level will get a boost with every new move mastered and every belt earned. People who struggle with a low sense of self-worth usually become more confident as time progresses while they’re enrolled in a martial arts class. 6. Instilling a Sense of Respect – Learning any martial arts style will require you to show your instructor respect. Today’s culture doesn’t always include respect for authority. When you go to a Martial Arts class, you will be learning lessons in respect along with new moves. 7. Developing Teamwork Skills – Working together to learn new things and accomplish goals is an important life lesson to be learnt, and instruction in the martial arts can help you learn that lesson. 8. Improvement in Other Areas of Life – The benefits of martial arts training don’t end in the dojo. The boost in confidence, increased fitness levels and new cooperation skills will help you in other areas of life. The classes are open to all abilities and anyone over the age of 4yrs old can take part.

Hinckley

didi rugby has been devised to get young children active and to teach them new skills while having fun in a safe environment. Classes have been designed by former England Women’s international Vicky Macqueen and are aimed at kids in three separate age groups from 18 months to six years old. These age ranges offer flexible boundaries and are based on each child’s ability and confidence as opposed to a strict age structure. We want to make every child comfortable and the programme they enjoy personal to each one of them. didi rugby will help your child get physically active, teach them new skills and improve their co-ordination, speed and balance. They will also help them learn social skills while having lots of fun in a positive, safe and friendly environment. Because of the age groups that are catered for at didi classes, parents and carers are very much encouraged to get involved as much or as little as they would like, and all classes delivered in a friendly and relaxed manner. In every session, there are two coaches ensuring that each child receives some one-to-one tuition and to ensure that even the shiest child feels a part of the friendly team. didi-aboutus didi Minis18 months - 36 months This age group will be taught the basic components of fitness in terms of balance, co-ordination, speed and strength using rugby to deliver these skills, with play and fun at the heart of everything we do. didi Mini is also an educational experience where children focus on learning more about things like colours, numbers and body parts while they are playing. Children take part in active and fun-filled sessions which encourage positivity, team play, respect and sportsmanship. Instilling these values early on in life has proven to enhance our future sportsmen and women and encourage a life-long participation in physical activity. At this age group, parents and carers are required to engage with and support their child and to encourage them to take part in activities which will give them a great start to life in the didi family.

Bramfield Education Ltd.

bramfield education ltd.

Market Harborough

Bramfield House School was established in 1970 as a specialist provision for pupils with social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. It is an all boys establishment catering for an age range of 7-16 and is registered for 74 pupils. It is situated in rural Suffolk 10 minutes drive from the heritage coast. The residential accommodation consists of the main house sitting in 10 acres of gardens and 1 mile from the centre of the village of Bramfield. The classroom facilities are independently placed within the grounds and consist of purpose made specialist subject provisions. Alongside the school site we provide a separate residential accommodation called Ibstock House that caters for the further development of pupil’s independence skills. This house has its own designated classroom and gardens, approximately ¾ of an acre and can support up to 6 boarding pupils. Both can access the numerous on-site resources on offer, including an indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasium, multi-gym, pool tables and table tennis table, full size sports pitches and outdoor adventure trail, amongst a host of other in- house activities and interests. The ethos of the school is based on trust and mutual respect, providing the opportunity for every individual to maximise their own potential in a warm and caring environment. The pupils are supported in discovering their personal attributes, and to then themselves acknowledge these skills, building their confidence and self-esteem so that this can then be transferred and used to develop and enhance all areas of their social and educational development. The professional staff group engages with pupils to explore new and varied environments and interests, using these opportunities to build relationships and understanding, so that they may be better placed to provide individually tailored support to the pupil. The school is well aware of the difficulties that been previously encountered by the young people coming into our care and will start afresh, positively supporting the pupils individuality alongside promoting the value of appropriate social skills. We provide a clearly staged developmental pathway from nurturing to self-management and independence, with skilled staff and resources to assist in this journey.
