Join us for an interactive food workshop giving practical advice and support for the body’s transition during peri-menopause and menopause. We will discuss menopause-related nutrition, focus on foods rich in calcium and vitamin D to support bone health, and emphasise the food groups that ensure a high intake of vitamins, minerals, and fibre We will also look at how to include whole grains to promote heart health, which is particularly important as the risk of heart disease increases after menopause and discuss the benefits of soy and soy products, as they contain phytoestrogens, which may help balance hormones. We will have a cooking demonstration as part of the workshop, discuss meal planning and have a Q&A with our nutrition expert At the end of the cooking session we will eat together as a group This event includes sample recipes and a free meal kit to cook at home. £5 per ticket

The Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES) is usually a one-year pre-university qualification that provides students with an entry route to an overseas university. The L3IFDHES prepares students with the essential English language skills, key transferable study skills, cultural knowledge, and chosen specialisms that universities feel bridges the gap between high school and undergraduate study. In January 2023 we offer pathways in business and higher finance. With agreements in place with over 70 universities across the globe, students’ can progress with confidence to a higher education course for further study. Entry Requirements For entry onto the NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES) qualification students must have successfully completed secondary school education. Students must also meet the English language entry requirements of: • IELTS minimum score of 4.5 or above OR • GCE ‘O’ Level English D7 or above Alternatively, a student can take the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test which is administered by our Accredited Partner Centre’s.

Course Description A practical course focusing on developing new and existing skills for those working on their President's Badge. Glasgow Battalion are planning to run 3 courses this session, please book a course that best suits your young person(s). The cost is £9 per participant, you can pay by card while booking or select cash and we will invoice on receipt of entries. Courses 1 is at Glasgow Battalion HQ, Ibrox Parish Church Course 2 is at St John's Renfield Parish Church Course 3 is at 1st Bearsden Halls

Open to any BBUK Leaders who have fully completed the registration process. Safeguarding and Managing Risk e-learning modules must be completed prior to attending the training course. Saturday 2nd November 2024 9:45 am to 5:45pm covers Modules 1: Introduction to BB, Module 6: Equal Opportunities, Module 2: Working with Under 11's OR Module 3: Working with Over 11's, Module 4: Safeguarding (recognised by the Church of Scotland)  Module 4 will start at 3:15pm and can be attended by Leaders who need this for Church of Scotland congregational purposes.
