Shamanic session: healing/ikigai/divination/mentoring

4.9(30)

By School of Shamanism

Sessions can happen ONLINE or IN PERSON. Please read below to choose the session that is more appropriate for you (you'll be asked to select one in the booking process) If you have questions please drop me an email info@schoolofshamanism.co.uk Don't worry if you do not know what to select, just come and I'll be happy to help you:-) Shamanism is probably the oldest way to see through our hearts and not our eyes to connect with the nature of our creation. It allows us to go behind and beyond the surface of things, to understand why and how certain situations occur in our lives. Shamanism is a spiritual practice that goes beyond every beliefs and culture and is about trying to reach our full potential as we walk on planet earth, so connecting ourselves to the whole. Shamans were described as the first physicians, magicians, artists, storytellers, spiritual beings. But shamans are healers that make changes in invisible realms to help healing in the ordinary reality of the community. Shamans see in the darkness (which is the meaning of the Siberian word “Shaman”) while connecting with the divine outside the time in an altered state of consciousness. We can work together using different methods: A) Shamanic healing We can work together to solve one of these imbalances in your life, where you feel: lost and without life purpose, unhappy and unsatisfied, anxious and worried, overwhelmed and stressed, without energy and hope, uncertain about your future, stuck in repetitive dynamics, unable to manifest abundance, incapable of making decisions, not aligned with your heart, disconnected from the universe, impatient and impulsive, not focused and balanced, with low esteem and more? B) Ikigai coaching to find your soul mission through shamanic work Ikigai is the manifestation, the realization of who you are. It has always been with you, it is your reason for being. Some people are lucky to find a job that corresponds to their true passion. They earn a living doing what they love. But there are a lot of people that do not have such a privilege or can’t find the courage for such a big change. The Japanese people from the island of Okinawa have a word for you: Ikigai. It’s your “reason for being”, where you combine what you love with what you are good. Ikigai is 'what makes you happy to get out of bed in the morning' and is formed by the union of two words: iki which means 'life' and gai that is 'what is worthwhile' which the ancients called “happiness”, your soul mission. Our session together will be a deep inner journey, suitable for those who already know their life mission and those who have no clue at all about it or just are not aware how to combine their gifts and skills. You will reconnect with your inner voice and true skills to realize your true life mission. C) 1-1 Shamanic Divination and find your 9 power animals Everyone has nine power or totem animals that emulate each person’s abilities, talents and challenges. For example if a person is connected to Wolf as a power animal, that person is a born teacher, pathfinder, innovator. This does not mean that the person has acknowledged the gifts. The 9 animals are one for each of Direction (4 plus above, below, within) and two animals that walk aside you each time and that maybe have come to you in dreams for years or that you are simply drawn to. Through the use of cards, while connecting to my Spirit Allies, I will find out which animals are your main guides into your life.  Afterwards you will have the opportunity, while tuning with the 9 animals,  A) to ask a burning question. Divination does not mean to foresee future, but to tune your own wisdom to be guided about how to read your inner light simply using a stone.  You will need 3 medium/big stones with some marks on them and we will then choose 1 and I will guide you through the full process, both online or in person.  B) or to receive your full essence and symbol from me though "soul remembrance : I will undertake a shamanic journey for you to retrieve the essence of your gifts and talents and a symbol to be blown into your solar plexus. This can be done online or in person D) Spiritual Mentoring I am happy to help you with any questions you have about spirituality, about your personal journey, about any doubts you may have about the next steps to take in life. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS * About me [https://kalandrakamusic.com/faqs/#about] * Lessons [https://kalandrakamusic.com/faqs/#lessons] * Materials [https://kalandrakamusic.com/faqs/#materials] * Studio / opening times [https://kalandrakamusic.com/faqs/#howtoget] * Payments and cancellations policy [https://kalandrakamusic.com/faqs/#policies] HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TEACHING MUSIC FOR? I’ve been teaching music for over 10 years. What instruments do you teach? I teach guitar (classical, acoustic and electric), bass, banjo, ukulele, and also DJing and music production. WHAT MUSIC STYLES DO YOU TEACH? I can teach a variety of styles (classical, pop, rock, indie, funky, reggae) and electronica (house, techno, downtempo, drum and bass), but it really depends on the students’ music taste. I would adapt the lesson accordingly. DO YOU OFFER FREE CONSULTATION? Yes, I do. In fact, I highly recommend it, so new potential students can set clear expectations and get answers to the questions they might have before enrolling in a single lesson or a block. CAN I TAKE A TRIAL LESSON BEFORE I BOOK A BLOCK OF HOURS? Yes, you can. In fact, this is what I initially suggest to new students, so they can see how they get on with the lesson, the instrument and me, too. HOW LONG DOES A LESSON LAST? A lesson normally last for one hour. DJing lessons can be longer (an hour and a half or 2 hours), and ukulele lesson for kids are usually 30 minutes long. I DON’T HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND AT ALL. WILL I BE ABLE TO LEARN AN INSTRUMENT/DJING? Yes, you will! I have many beginner students who had never played an instrument before, and they are making big progress. CAN I LEARN MORE THAN ONE INSTRUMENT AT THE SAME TIME? Of course! It is really up to you. HOW MUCH TIME SHOULD I PRACTICE EVERY DAY? There is not really a recommended time for it. However, a minimum of 15 minutes per day would be nice to see a steady progress. DO YOU SEND HOMEWORK TO STUDENTS? Yes, I normally do, so they can practice what they were taught on the lesson. DO YOU OFFER ONLINE LESSONS? Yes, I do for each instrument and Music production, but not for DJing. DO YOU OFFER STUDENT DISCOUNT? Yes, I do. a 10% discount applies to all prices shown on the website. If you want to apply to the student discount, you will have to show proof that you are a student (i.e. a dated student ID). I SENT AN ENQUIRY, BUT I HAVEN’T RECEIVED A REPLY. WHY? I aim to reply to enquiries within 24-48 hours. Also, check your spam folder, as quite often my emails end up there. DO I NEED TO HAVE MY OWN INSTRUMENT? Although it is not essential as I have spare instruments at the studio, it is recommended to have your own instrument, so you will be able to practice from home. FOR DJING LESSONS, DO I NEED TO HAVE MY OWN CONTROLLER/ DECKS? This is the same as with instruments, it’d be good to have them at home, so you can continue practising what you have learnt in the lessons. I can also give you advise on what software you can get to DJ with you computer without using a controller (I actually started this way in my early years). WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE FOR YOUR DJ LESSONS? I use 2x Pioneer CDJ900 Nexus multi players, 2x Technics SL 1210 MK2 turntables,  a Xone 92 Mixer and 2x KRK Rokit 5 active speakers along with a subwoofer. WHERE DO THE LESSONS TAKE PLACE? They take place at my private studio located inside the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre (25 Palmerston Place, EH12 5AP Edinburgh [https://goo.gl/maps/dSYMfvjDPtG1Uzq59]) I WILL BE COMING TO THE LESSON BY CAR. IS IT FREE TO PARK IN THE AREA? No, it is not. It is free to park from 6:30pm from Monday to Saturday, though. There is also a street nearby (Belford R [https://goo.gl/maps/psRN3eXhAVNko7mMA]oad) where you can park from 5:30pm and throughout the day on Saturdays with no parking restrictions. CAN YOU GIVE ME LESSONS IN MY OWN HOUSE? Depending on the students’ needs, this can be occasionally arranged, but it’s not always possible due to my schedule, which can be tight at some times. An extra charge for transport will apply. Get in touch with me for consultation. [https://kalandrakamusic.com/contact/] DO YOU TEACH AT THE WEEKEND? Yes, I do. I’m open on Fridays from 5pm to 10pm and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. I close on Sundays. DO YOU TEACH CHILDREN? Yes, I do, from all ages. Parents can come with them to the lesson and wait  inside the studio, if they wish. There is also a tea room inside the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Centre. WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T ATTEND A LESSON? If you let me know with more than 24 hours in advance, I can rearrange the lesson for another day/time. However, if the request for cancellation is less than 24 hours: – I will try to rearrange the lesson on another day/time in the same week (this is subject to both the student and my availability). This lesson will be charged as usual. – If the lesson can’t be arranged in the same week, the lesson will be charged. No exceptions are made. – Sick absences and overtime work are also included in this cancellation policy. In order to avoid cancellation, I recommend you to be realistic about your spare time and commitment to the music lessons. Some students are very keen to learn and instrument/DJing, but they just can’t find the time for it. DO THE BLOCKS OF LESSONS EXPIRE? No, they don’t. The remaining lessons will be kept until you come back from an absence (sickness, holiday, etc) I WON’T BE ABLE TO ATTEND MY REMAINING LESSONS. CAN I ASK FOR A REFUND? Unfortunately, that is not possible. However, the lessons are transferable, so somebody else can take them.  YOU HAVE PROPOSED ME A DAY AND A TIME FOR MY LESSON, BUT THIS STILL HASN’T BEEN CONFIRMED BY ME. CAN YOU HOLD MY SLOT UNTIL LAST MINUTE? I will hold a slot up to 48 hours before the lesson. After this time, I can’t guarantee the slot will be available. I currently have a waiting list for students wanting to get some specific slots (mostly at evening time), and if I haven’t received confirmation from you prior to 48 hours to the lesson, the slot will become available. WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT? AND WHEN DOES THE LESSON HAVE TO BE PAID? For single lessons, I accept cash and card, to be paid 24 hours prior to the day and time of the lesson. For block of lessons, bank transfer and PayPal are also acceptable, always paid 24 hours prior to the first lesson. If a lesson hasn’t been paid before this timeframe, there is no warranty the slot will be available. And if the payment hasn’t gone through at least 12 hours before the lesson, this will be automatically cancelled.  ARE THERE ANY ADDITIONAL COSTS APART FROM THE LESSON CHARGE? No, there aren’t. Prices shown on the website are fixed to the final price.

It is a myth that we must be flexible to do Yoga. We do not arrive to Yoga with perfect bodies. Through breath and mindful movement we move our bodies and our minds toward wholeness and healing, and we learn to  accept ourselves as we are each day.  WHAT IS VINYASA FLOW YOGA? Vinyasa Flow yoga classes are both a physical challenge and a moving meditation. We start with yogic breathwork (pranayama) and warm up our bodies with gentle movements.  We then move into a more rigorous flow where we connect our breath with our movement through various yoga postures.  Modifications are offered for different abilities and those with conditions and injuries.  We then wind down with relaxing postures and deep rest.  In these classes you can expect to build physical strength, balance and stamina.  You will also develop a mindfulness practice and better body awareness.   This is a strength-based style of yoga so expect to sweat. At the end of class, you will leave feeling challenged and energised, yet also calm and centred.  With regular attendance you can expect to feel stronger and more flexible, to have better balance and to learn mindfulness tools to manage stress.  -- Please note: a reasonable level of fitness is required for these classes. You should be able to walk briskly for a mile and go up and down stairs without difficulty. Flexibility is NOT a requirement, rather it is one of the benefits gained by practicing yoga. 😊 After my first yoga class, I was hooked. I felt so calm. My body felt so open, and so tall. For more than 20 years now I have attended yoga classes for fitness, fun and to find a place of peace and respite. It’s helped me through bouts of back, neck, and wrist pain when I worked in IT. Yoga kept me fit during pregnancy and gives me a calming place to go when I need a break from the constancy of motherhood.
