Course Overview Lean Six Sigma is a proven combination of tools and techniques that has been used by leading organizations to improve efficiency, productivity and customer satisfaction. It achieves this by providing a rigorous and structured methodology and team approach to problem solving which leads to quality and performance improvements. Our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training is a seven-day programme which includes an in-house project designed to provide participants with an understanding of the Six Sigma Green Belt Process and it’s practical application.  Trainees will enhance their current skills by developing a thorough understanding of the DMAIC (Define/Measure/Analyse/Improve/Control) methodology and its applications, creating a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement in their organization. In this way, key personnel become valuable contributors in achieving the larger goals and objectives of their organization. This powerful tool will enable you and your team to identify opportunities for improvement, and assist in the implementation of projects leading to efficiency by equipping key personnel with the expertise and the tools needed to manage and participate in cost reduction projects with innovative solutions.  Trainees will learn how to use data to pinpoint processes that need to be analysed and improved using the Six Sigma Tool sets, with a view to problem solving, increasing operational efficiency, improving productivity and customer satisfaction and the company’s overall business results.   Our Lean Six Sigma Green Belt programme incorporates a project to be undertaken in your own organization during and after the training modules. This allows you to apply the tools, in your own working environment, to processes that are known to you, making the training relevant, and also leaving a improvement with measurable results in your organization. MINITAB (trial version can be downloaded free) and Excel software are used by participants during the training sessions and to complete their projects. Structure of the Course This 7-day training programme is divided into three modules as follows:  * Define / Measure Phase - 3 days from June 24th to 26th,  2024 * Analyse Phase - 2 days on September 16th & 17th, 2024 * Improve / Control Phase - 2 days on October 21st & 22nd, 2024 A gap of 4 weeks between each module provides an opportunity for trainees to work on a project within their workplace, applying the methodology and tools learned during the previous module. Extra support can be provided between modules for each trainees with their project work. We provide a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Manual for all delegates, and a Certification is awarded upon completion of the Green Belt training and ONE project by each trainee in which the targeted outcomes have been achieved. An outcome report and/or project presentation which demonstrates the use of the tools and methodology is required. Cost: £1,800 + VAT per person. FPSO Operations Management & Safety

ABOUT THIS TRAINING COURSE This five-day training course will cover aspects of FPSO operations with an emphasis on management of safety. A background of the methodology used to generate the various safety plans and codes used in the operational safety case will be covered. The course will also review general operational guidelines in the offshore environment to ensure that the operations are completed as designed. This will include offtake operations and maintenance processes for the plant and vessel as well as a session on subsea. Training Objectives To enable participants to obtain an in-depth understanding of FPSO operations, safety and maintenance: * Provide a broad overview of how an FPSO operation is set up and established in the field * Grasp the various methods used to moor the production units * Analyse information and methods required to establish the operation according to local and international regulations. * Assess the methods used to calculate the safety parameters and requirements to construct an approved valid safety case * Explore conditions to monitor during operations with regards to safety and structure * Inspect various types of hazards associated with production and produced materials * Review regular and emergency operational maintenance requirements * Examine cyclones and weather events causing disconnection * Comprehend manning, training requirements and operations including cargo Case studies and Exercises: The training course uses real life examples and case studies to explain the setup, preparation, implementation and operational activities required to successfully complete FPSO operations from a safety and maintenance perspective. This will allow the application of participants' newly-acquired knowledge. Case studies also stimulate independent thinking and discussion among the participants. Case Studies The case studies proposed for this course will include: * A group exercise to consider what is the minimum requirement for the production of a safety case * Generic plan for the development of a maintenance management system using computer software systems (e.g. Amos) * Construction of a UWILD plan to include scope and potential tendering requirements Quizzes The various quizzes can be expanded or arranged to suit the group/interests and topics covered but will generally include the following topics: * Mooring types and location where they are primarily used * Safety cases * Safety management systems * Process hazards and mitigation * UWILD components and regulations * Operations management * Offtake operations Target Audience The course is generally aimed at personnel who are involved in FPSO operations as either offshore crew or onshore support team members. This course will also greatly benefit the following groups but not limited to: * Process engineers * Surveyors * Facility engineers * Naval architects * Operations engineer * Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) specialists and managers * Maintenance engineers Course Level * Intermediate Training Methods The training course is presented in an interactive workshop format that allows for discussion. The course will be delivered through analysis of case studies and running examples of problems. Course Duration: 5 days in total (35 hours) The training instructor relies on a highly interactive training method to enhance the learning process. This method ensures that all participants gain a complete understanding of all the topics covered. The training comprises of information supplemented by visual activities including photographs from various operations and videos of operational and safety activities. He has also been in charge of semisubmersible and fixed production platforms as field superintendent before moving ashore into senior management roles. On completion of industry specific activities, he moved to teaching roles at South Tyneside Maritime College in the department of marine and simulation and presented live courses to maritime students from cadet to Master.  Prior to returning to Perth in March 2019, he was training manager for a subsidiary of Gaz Transport and Technigaz of France. He has a Master Class 1 certificate with endorsements for hazardous cargoes and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration as well as multiple course certificates required to operate FPSO's, platforms and semisubmersible facilities. He has been involved in the preparation of national standards for Safety Cases (Australia); Designing and structural setup of competency-based training systems in South East Asia. He was also involved in the development of minimum standards, competency profiles position based and preparation and implementation of training plans to ensure competency in the local staff in Asian operations. He was part of the development team for minimum standards of offshore safety in Australian offshore operations including the implementation of the Common Safety Training Program (CSTP). He was also involved in implementing training plans for both simulator and classroom based courses in LNG operations and cargo tank design and construction. ABOUT THIS VIRTUAL INSTRUCTOR LED TRAINING (VILT) A large amount of geological data is acquired at a substantial cost when carrying out a drilling operation. Ensuring optimal quality of this information and effective reporting plays a key role during well design and drilling operations. In addition, there is much to benefit from the later usage of the data in field studies. A critical component that ensures favourable and positive results is the close co-operation between geological, drilling and well engineering departments. Comprising 5 half-day sessions, this Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) course aims to provide the required knowledge in order for the collaboration to be most effective and successful. This VILT course will comprise lectures interspersed with practical and interactive exercises and quizzes to promote better understanding. Training Objectives At the end of this VILT course, participants will be able to: * Understand the techniques used by wellsite geologists in formation evaluation via: * Quick-look analysis to assess reservoir and hydrocarbons * Mudlog data (lithology/cutting description, gas readings) * Grasp the application of wellsite data in exploration and development * Be able to read, assess and use drilling reports * Acquire an understanding of drilling problems caused by subsurface conditions * Understand the role and contributions of the geologist to the well maturation process Target Audience This VILT course is intended for geologists and other subsurface staff involved in drilling operations who would like to work and communicate more effectively with wellsite staff.  Please note that this VILT course is not a preparation course for a wellsite assignment. To be able to work independently on the wellsite, a more hands-on or on-site training would be required. Training Methods This VILT course will be delivered online in 5 half-day sessions comprising 4 hours per day, with 2 breaks of 10 minutes per day. Course Duration: 5 half-day sessions, 4 hours per session (20 hours in total). Trainer Your expert course leader has close to 20 years of experience as a geologist in the Oil & Gas industry. Her main interest and passion is in well planning and operations. She had previously worked as a production geologist and technical authority in NAM (Netherlands), and as a discipline advisor tasked to coach young staff in Bangalore. She has been active in internal training sessions on drilling hazards, mudwindow assessment and project management. She obtained an MSc in hard rock structural geology from the University in Utrecht, a PhD at Brown University (RI, USA) and a post-doctoral at the RWTH Aachen.
