The organisation primarily works with adults who are economically and/or socially disadvantaged, and therefore statistically less likely to be economically active or to be participating in education and learning through traditional routes. CET’s aim is to enable these adults to access foundation or entry level education and training which will provide them with new skills and increased self-esteem and confidence with which they can use to progress to employment, further education opportunities, or improve career prospects. Indeed we are a “Stepping Stone” and in some cases a “life line” for people looking to build a more rewarding future, because we provide accessible education in an environment which is both non-threatening and culturally empathetic.

Through our in-house enterprise curriculum and our partnership with Loughborough College, we support our students to achieve their targets and goals using individual learning plans. Students have a wide range of disabilities including learning difficulties, autism, Asperger's Syndrome, sight loss, communication problems, physical disabilities, chronic illness and hearing loss. The main aim of the College is to prepare people for as fulfilling an adult life as possible by maximising independence. I always like to see the human face of a business, so here’s a bit about me. Having chosen to spend the last 25 years working in Human Resources, I guess you could say that I’m passionate about all things HR. I’m a Chartered Member of the CIPD which means I comply with the minimum standards of this professional body and keep myself up-to-date on all employment legislation and industry news. In my career, I’ve worked in operational and strategic HR functions for large organisations. I’ve also had the benefit of working in both public and private sectors, across a variety of different sectors, including retail, education, tourism and financial services. I currently serve as a board trustee at Citizens Advice South Lincolnshire. In 2010, I decided to draw on my HR expertise and set up West HR and I haven’t looked back since. We passionately believe that in order for students to reach their academic potential, they must experience the highest levels of individual care, guidance and support. In September 2016, we moved into our brand-new school building and at the same time, we joined Redhill Academy Trust. In partnership, we have a passion to continually support and drive school improvement. In January 2023, to ensure we can continue to accommodate the increasing need for school places in our catchment, our new £2.65 million extension will be complete. Alongside other facility developments including a new 3G floodlit pitch which will be ready for September 2022, our school community has long lasting, modern day facilities that enhance students’ educational experience. And in February 2022, Ofsted Inspectors visited us and confirmed that the school remains at least 'Good' in all areas of inspection - and we have improved significantly since this point. We pride ourselves on our knowledge of every single student and ensuring that students are challenged in their learning but enjoy and feel safe as part of our school community.
