<p>Mental Health First Aid (MHFAider) is an internationally recognised training course that teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. We don't teach people to be therapists, but we do teach people how to respond in a crisis, and how to reach out before a crisis happens. The course&nbsp;duration is&nbsp;3 days and comprises both practical and theoretical training scenarios where candidates are expected to deliver short training sessions. These sessions aim to develop the candidates personal skills and teaching ability in the safety of the training environment. The course does focus on teaching you how to instruct. You will learn effective methods of instructing and coaching, how to debrief, and how to structure the courses. Download brochure for course details here.  This online version of the mental health first aid course will offer the same learning outcomes as the face to face training, and every person who completes the course will be certified as a Mental Health First Aider. The Online Mental Health First Aid course is a blended approach of individual learning and four instructor-led live sessions, hosted on a new Online Learning Hub. As a training course, Mental Health First Aid teaches people how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. The organisation's courses and resources also promote self-care as a vital way for people to help protect their mental health and prevent issues from getting worse. As with all our courses at Mindmaps Wellbeing, your course will be delivered by a Registered Mental Health Nurse, MHFA England Instructor and Open University Associate Lecturer and Practice Tutor experienced in remote teaching. Our live online learning will also include an assistant who is a MHFAider.
