In this fun and creative course, you'll learn how to use sashiko mending techniques to patch your jeans with elegance. You will learn the fundamentals of visible mending jeans, which uses simple stitches to create stunning patterns and designs on the cloth. A step-by-step demonstration and guidance on how to execute sashiko stitching on jeans will be provided. You must bring your own ripped jeans or work on the sampler provided by us. Are you ready to design for the metaverse? We will introduce you to working digitally and take you through the process of developing a fashion project through the use of technology. It will cover idea development, research, digital sketchbook creation, experimental draping (in CLO 3D), digital print design, garment design (CLO 3D), and final outcome presentation. CLO 3D is a software used to create virtual garments and as a sustainable sampling method by many fashion brands. By the end of the week, you will have produced a collection of 2 looks, incorporating your own print designs and presented in a setting you have created; as well as a documentation of the process. Please bring along the manual and all the accessories that came with it including spare bobbins and the bobbin case if applicable.
