Lee Furniture offer a beginners course in Box Making. The tuition is one on one. This course is for the beginner interested in making furniture.  Throughout the day we will make a box (see images) in solid Oak/Ash (Timber dependant on stock) There is an option to upgrade the box to Walnut timber during the course!! The course is hands on and will be based around using tools and machinery to plane and join for your box, use of hand tools to include the correct use of: Marking out tools Planes Chisels Scrapers Power tools There will be demonstrations throughout the day including chisel sharpening, planing and cutting wood.   Unlike courses of this type elsewhere, this is a making course, not just assembling pre-cut planed components, you will plane from scratch sawmill-provided timber.  At the end of the day you will have achieved the making of a solid oak box, and learned some of the techniques used in cabinet making. The Box is finished with modern style hinges and a oil/wax finish.. What's included in the price? Wood is included in the course for practising your new skills.  Tea and coffee included for the day. There is a cafe on site with hot and cold food if you wish to purchase lunch. Cancellation policy Easy - Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts

About the event During the art jamming workshop, you are free to paint with the provided materials. Some painting guidance will be provided if necessary. It’s a good time for you and your friends to gather and enjoy the painting in freestyle, chit-chat with drinks. - Each session is 1.5 hrs (within 2 hours). -You own your art piece after the workshop. -Soft drinks, Coffee, hot chocolate and tea are provided. -No experience is needed. Silver stacking rings taster session for complete beginners -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A few hours to have a brief introduction to silver Jewellery techniques. Learn to use basic tools and techniques and go home with a ring stack! The ticket price includes the costs of precious materials. Join us to create THREE gorgeous Sterling Silver stacking rings . You will create THREE rings in your choice of FIVE designs. Price includes all materials and instruction. This also includes light refreshments. About the workshop Make your own stunning sterling silver stacking rings - choice of different designs. There are also different texture and forming tools to choose from, to make your stack unique to you. We cover a range of silversmithing techniques in this workshop so it really is a great introduction to working with silver. Who is it for? Beginners onwards. Please note that a good level of dexterity and eyesight is required. Over 16s with accompanying adult. What will I learn? You'll learn the basics of jewellery making including annealing, sawing, filing, soldering, shaping and forming, texturing and polishing. What's included? We provide all the equipment and materials you will need including the sterling silver to make your rings. Tea, coffee and cake are also included on the day. What shall I bring? Reading glasses if you use them. Also to keep you safe it's best to wear closed toed shoes, tie long hair back and avoid loose flappy clothes. The Roasting Intermediate course builds upon the introductory concepts of the Foundation course. It is ideal for someone who has roasting and desires to gain a deeper understanding of the roast profile, how the profile relates to color, the relationship between roast profile and sensory expression, and the impact of development time. Learners will further explore the physical and chemical changes as well as basic thermodynamics and heat transfer that occurs during the roast. Thereafter there will be an introduction to sample roasting and a review of safety and maintenance protocols in the roasting plant. A written exam tests intermediate course knowledge while a practical exam assesses the learner’s ability to roast correctly and remove the coffee at the correct color using a reference, while accurately completing the roast log form.
