Traditional Chinese martial arts club We are a traditional martial arts club teaching three martial systems, all derived in one way or another from the South Eastern area of Fuzhou in China. Tiger Crane Combination Kung fu System (Hu Hè Shuang Xing Quan) and the White Crane Soft Boxing system (Shuang Yang Bai Hè Rou Ruan Quan) were believed to originated from the southern Quanzhou shaolin Temple. The Shaolin Dog Boxing Kungfu System (Shaolin DiShu Quan) was a nuns style from opposite the same Temple called (Bai Lian Si) White Lotus temple.

Between 1998-2002 I have studied and graduated Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture, Herbology and Tuina) in an incorporate study program between Reidman International College for Complementary and Integrative Medicine and Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China. During these 4 years of study I was privileged to be exposed to many different methods of healing and therapy and took additional classes outside the TCM frame. I’ve graduated Shiatsu therapy and practised daily Qi Gong and meditation. This is when I first experienced and immediately fell in love with Yoga. In 2012, 14 years into my Yoga practice of different styles, I decided that I'm ready to share my love for Yoga, and embarked on many different training: Vinyasa, Prana Flow, Teen Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Naada Yoga including Gong Mastery, Sound Energy Medicine and Kirtan leadership. I am now teaching my own style, a combination influenced by my many teachers and incorporating the full range of disciplines I studied over the years. My aim is to create a space where we can practice yoga in its many aspects and at any level. A place where one can focus on one’s Self and feel safe and capable to allow physical, emotional and spiritual growth.

The British Kempo Ju-Jitsu Federation is a non political multi style organisation, it is founded on groups who share a common goal in martial arts, we use the internet to communicate regularly with each other and dispense with the age old 'lets meet up and have a meeting' environment. We do not hold annual meetings and information regarding finances are down to the individual member groups. Becoming a member of the BKJJF is very easy and for the Associate level membership this is completely free and allows new members to post their details on our website, get help building their own site and allows them to attend our courses. We have a wealth of experience that members can plug into from Chinese styles to Japanese, Korean and other European and Global styles, access to this is competely free of charge at Associate Level membership, so if this is a good thing, why is it so many clubs and instructors still follow lesser qualified and poor quality instructors who frequently over charge and under deliver? Ju-Jitsu as a way of Life!! It is encouraging to see so many clubs advertised on the internet, where do they all come from and what are their origins ? Does it really matter that much,providing the Instructors run the clubs in a professional manner and do not use the club to satisfy their own ego's? Why is it that Martial Artists are so suspicious of each other, I find it incredible that clubs and associations are not willing to work together more, sharing their ideas and good practice to the overal development of Martial Arts as a whole. To combat this the British Kempo Ju-Jitsu Federation has developed a three tier membership level, so there is a membership level to suit everyone at all stages of their Martial Arts career, indeed the Associate Member Level is free of charge to all comers with no hidden agenda,

Traditional Karate New and returning students welcome. No prior experience or specialised equipment necessary. Also Tai Chi & Qigong Sunday mornings 10.30-11.30am Classes Saturday mornings, Wednesday evenings. Parents accompanying children train for FREE!! Saturday mornings, 9.30 -10.30am, St.Swithun's church hall, Waverly Road, Southsea - Parking available, car park accessed from Collingwood Road. Age 5+ Wednesday evenings 7-8pm Havelock Community Centre, Fawcett Road, Southsea. Upstairs Hall - ring buzzer for hall to be admitted. Age 16+ Sunday mornings 10.30-11.30am Havelock large room, Tai chi & Qigong. Yang Short Form, Chen Old Form and Qigong, exercises for balance, mobility and improved health All lessons are tailored to individual needs. Starting age for Wednesday classes is 16 (younger students will be accepted if they have prior experience). There is no upper limit! Shintai is a traditional Shotokan club, following a direct line from Hirokazu Kanazawa (who Sensei Tyrie trained and graded under). However, elements of Okinawan karate and Chinese martial arts, also get taught. We are not a Sports Karate class. Shintai is a martial art for health, self-defence, fitness and self-confidence. Competitive karate is taught, but it is not compulsory.
