This course is ideal for all, from beginners to confident makers. You will learn the basics of leather craft for accessories and be introduced to techniques including machine stitching on leather, hand finishing leather, inserting hardware and decorative leather techniques. You will be working with a sustainably sourced lush vegetable tanned leather. This is a perfect introductory or taster course to start your journey into leather craft.In order to complete your purse in a day we will use part pre-cut parts and the purse will be made from a &lsquo;Hands of Tym&rsquo; pattern but do not fear there is still plenty of work for you to do.During the day you will be directed by your tutor Leathersmith and London College of Fashion Lecturer Georgie Tym to make a &lsquo;raw edge&rsquo; &lsquo;concertina&rsquo; small leather purse with small internal pocket and a flap closure. The course will be held in the Tower Barn at Broadway Tower, near Broadway, Worcestershire from 10am until 4.30pm.&nbsp; Please arrive around 9.45am.&nbsp; There is parking there and lunch, tea and coffee will be provided, as well as wool!
You can choose what animal you would like to make (within reason!), but it is best to pick something you love and you are familiar with how it looks. &nbsp;We use a wire armature frame and make a model around 6 to 7 inches in height.&nbsp; Please bring reference pictures/photos that inspire you and especially a picture of the animal from the side view, so that we can get the proportions right - I will help you with this, don&#39;t worry about it!&nbsp; I will also have some photographs and books for reference.&nbsp; Please let me know what animal you would like to make so I can bring the right colour wool!&nbsp;
You will learn the process of needle-felting and hopefully you will finish your sculpture in the day, but there is no pressure to do so and I will ensure that you will be able to finish off at home if necessary.&nbsp; Felting is an enjoyable and surprisingly easy craft.
All materials and tools are provided.&nbsp; So you don&#39;t need to bring anything but enthusiasm! Felting tools and wool will also be available to purchase after the course if you so wish.

This day is suitable for complete beginners, you don&#39;t need to have had any prior experience of this craft. Come and join us at this beautifully tranquil venue in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside. You are guaranteed a warm welcome to the cozy butterfly barn. During the course of the day you will produce an average of at least 5 pieces of glass- these could be items of jewellery, candle holders, sun-catchers, a collection of Christmas decorations or a unique coaster for that perfect cuppa. For the price you receive tuition to support you at your own pace, use of equipment and materials, up to three firings, once fired your work will have any findings, ribbons, stands added for you and will be carefully packaged up and posted to you anywhere in the Uk. Wild Finca Online Rewilding Retreat
Our intention for the Wild Finca Online Rewilding Retreat is to help you strengthen your connection with nature. We achieve this by enhancing your knowledge of the natural world and offering both inspiration and practical suggestions on how to incorporate the concept of ‘Rewilding’ into your own life.
Course Structure:

Week 1

Session 1: Introduction to Wild Finca Habitats
Date & Time: Wednesday 2nd October (9pm CET)
- LIVE with mini film inserts (an intro to the different habitats we have here, and a Q&A about habitats near to you)
Pre-recorded Mini Film:
- Introduction to the different habitats at Wild Finca.
- Visual tour showcasing various ecosystems.
Live Component:
- Q&A session about habitats near you. Participants can share information and ask questions about their local environments.
Objectives:
- Understand the variety of habitats at Wild Finca.
- Learn to identify and appreciate your local habitats.


Session 2: Wildlife at Wild Finca
Date & Time: Friday 4th October (9pm CET)
- LIVE with mini film inserts (the wildlife we have here, migration and local fauna)
Pre-recorded Mini Film:
- Presentation on the wildlife at Wild Finca.
- Focus on both migratory species and local fauna, highlighting unique behaviors and adaptations.
Live Component:
- Interactive discussion on wildlife spotting tips and ethical wildlife observation.
Objectives:
- Gain knowledge about the diverse wildlife at Wild Finca.
- Develop skills for observing and identifying your local wildlife.


Session 3: Agri-Rewilding Process
Date & Time: Sunday 6th October (9pm CET)
- LIVE with mini film inserts (agriwilding, the livestock we use and why)

- Overview of Wild Finca's agri-rewilding process.
- Step-by-step guide on how rewilding practices are applied to agricultural land.

- Tips on creating wildlife-friendly spaces in urban and rural settings.

Session 6: Treasure Hunt Review and Closing
Date & Time: BONUS session Sunday 13th of October (9pm CET)
- LIVE a review of everyones Treasure Hunt (NB You will recieve the Treasure Hunt on Sunday 29th of September. The Treasure Hunt is specifically designed to get you outside and engaging directly with the natural world, as well as creating opportunities to put your learning into practice). 
Activity:
- Treasure Hunt: Participants will receive a list of items to find over the two-week period. Items may include specific plants, animal tracks, insects, etc.
Live Component:
- Review of Treasure Hunt findings.
- Identification and discussion of items found.
- Closing remarks and feedback session.
Objectives:
- Encourage hands-on engagement with nature.
- Provide a fun and interactive way to reinforce learning.
By the end of the retreat, you'll not only have deepened your connection with nature but also gained actionable insights to bring the spirit of rewilding into your own environment.
