the silver zebra glass studio

The Silver Zebra studio was established in 2004 and is situated in the beautiful county of Cheshire adjacent to the families farmhouse. Glass workshops are facilitated here for both beginners and intermediates but it is also a full time working studio working on glass sculpture and architectural panels.  Our classes are priced to include everything you need for your time here and also include refreshments and our famous homemade farmhouse lunches too! relax - create - recharge & have fun   Tuition is fun and relaxed with Deborah who has over 30yrs of inherited experience in glass, she will guide you through your time here, work with templates or feel free to explore your own ideas Location - Free Parking & only 10 minutes from the M6 We do hope to see you here soon :)

We run a wide range of craft and textile workshops [https://www.dtcrafts.co.uk/workshops-classes-events-calendar/] and pride ourselves in delivering high quality, enjoyable classes, events and workshops.  Our courses range from short, 'make & take' sessions, through to one day or week-long training workshops.  We are very happy to take bookings from individuals, groups, community organisations, schools, colleges and businesses - be it a baby shower, wedding party, birthday or corporate event (our crafty team-building and wellbeing sessions are particularly popular!). We can also arrange one-to-one sessions if there's something specific you're interested in.  Sessions can be run at our studio in Altrincham, or at a venue to suit you. We bring everything so you just need to relax and enjoy a fun, making session! With a degree in Graphic Design from the University of La Plata, Argentina, I worked in print production and logo design until I moved to the UK in 1999. I have always had a particular interest in Typography and Calligraphy, and gradually the latter took over. Since 2016, I have focused my career on teaching and producing calligraphy work. I co-founded Love Calligraphy, where I worked until April 2020. I worked with Kirsten Burke on special events through the North West for Jo Malone, Clinique, Molton Brown and La Mer during my time there. Additionally, I have collaborated with Simple Lettering Magazine in two articles about Traditional Copperplate. Now, I work independently from home to better fit my work around my family life. My efforts are entirely behind the CalligrAbility initiative. I am a member of NWCA [http://www.northwestcalligraphers.org.uk/], SSI [https://calligraphyonline.org/], SLLA [http://www.southlondonlettering.co.uk/] and CLAS [http://www.clas.co.uk/]. Since February 2020, I have been collaborating with Joy Daniels [http://joydanielscalligraphy.co.uk/] on the Copperplate Special Interest Group [http://www.clas.co.uk/copperplate-special-interest-group/]. I am also its representative on the CLAS's Management Committee. [https://www.clas.co.uk/committees/] I love travelling and attending calligraphy classes around the country. Meeting fellow calligraphers and great masters keep my motivation high and enrich my work.

Hi, I'm Stephie (not Fred), An embroidery artist and creative based in Manchester. I'm inspired by the natural and the man(chester) made, and passionate about encouraging others to explore and express their creativity. I LOVE running workshops and sharing the joy of stitching and creating with others. I want people to leave a Hoop & Fred workshop feeling better than when they walked in and empowered to create. Maybe they’ll fall head over heels with embroidery as I did, or perhaps they will simply feel better for having spent a couple of hours trying their hand at something arty and leave feeling confident enough to try other new things.  All my workshops are suitable for beginners. I  ensure everyone gets the time they need to ask questions, and they leave with all the materials and knowledge required to finish their project at home.

Founded in 2018, Oh So Pretty And Clever was born out of a desire to create and share beautiful things, and the art of making them!  Regional Finalist North for Best Rural Creative, Artisan or Craft Business 2019/2020.  Rated excellent on Trustpilot and holder of a Students Gold Standard Award for craft course delivery. "Emma is with a crochet hook, as Dynamo is with a pack of cards!" One of my favourite reviews!  I have been crocheting for over ten years and it is my absolute love and passion.  Not a day goes by that I don't crochet.  It's a part of my day the same as brushing my hair is.  I love sharing this wonderful craft with my students, and I promise you'll be hooked after your workshop with me.

the potters barn

The Potters Barn is set in the heart of the UK in the beautiful Cheshire countryside next to the Trent and Mersey canal and close to Junction 17 on the M6 motorway. Opened in 1992 the Pottery is owned and run by Andrew Pollard and Steve Marr. They met whilst studying at Farnham many years ago and have worked together ever since. The Potters Barn is a fully working pottery that offers activities and courses to the public and organisations for relaxation, education and enjoyment. If you are bitten by the creative bug we have regular pottery classes. We also run occasional other craft courses, keep an eye on the website. Corporate events, Teambulding, Hen parties, Birthday Parties…….the Potters Barn is something different, no matter what the occasion, ‘playing with clay’ appeals to all !
