One day hands-on courses to make a willow reindeer for the home and garden. Participants are shown how to weave with dried willow using a variety of weaving techniques.

Due to ongoing Health and Safety precautions we are limiting class sizes to 8 people, for all of our sessions, for the time being. PPE (face shields, gloves and aprons) and hand sanitiser will be available for all of our workshops. Tea and coffee making facilities will be available but you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our local cafes or bakeries.

Acrylic techniques Learn how to handle acrylics. Useful colour hints. Painting from a subject. Impasto techniques. This workshop could be a follow on for you from the 'Drawing techniques' day.

Watercolour techniques. Learn how to put a basic wash down, including gradiations. Colour pallettes explained. Techniques of wet into wet painting How to create a convincing sky. How to master trees. An all round guide to the properties of this beautiful medium.

A relaxed and informal Blackwork Embroidery course in the lovely setting of a converted 18th Century cotton mill in Warwick Bridge, Carlisle. This course has been designed to guide the complete beginner or act as a refresher for those who may have dabbled in Blackwork embroidery in the past. We will cover the history, styles of Blackwork embroidery, threads and techniques.

All materials for this workshop will be provided but you are welcome to bring along your own materials. Fabric must be white or a light shade and be synthetic (man made) for a good print result.
