Hi, I'm Stephie (not Fred), An embroidery artist and creative based in Manchester. I'm inspired by the natural and the man(chester) made, and passionate about encouraging others to explore and express their creativity. I LOVE running workshops and sharing the joy of stitching and creating with others. I want people to leave a Hoop & Fred workshop feeling better than when they walked in and empowered to create. Maybe they’ll fall head over heels with embroidery as I did, or perhaps they will simply feel better for having spent a couple of hours trying their hand at something arty and leave feeling confident enough to try other new things.  All my workshops are suitable for beginners. I  ensure everyone gets the time they need to ask questions, and they leave with all the materials and knowledge required to finish their project at home.

Hello there By way of introduction, I'm a seasonal, 'British flowers only' florist and workshop facilitator.   Once upon another life, I worked in Law on behalf of asbestos victims and those suffering from occupational stress and PTSD, but I have always been a gardener. Nature and flowers were forever a refuge, and it was to those things that I returned when I wanted to escape the every day.   I also saw how being in their own green spaces became comforting to clients suffering from terminal pain and psychological illness.  Nature and their gardens held them, and it was with this in mind that I turned to British grown, seasonal flowers as a way of mindful, creative living.  Social and therapeutic horticulture is my passion, and so, too, is allowing flowers to be our wild remedy whenever we need it. My workshops are designed to allow you to reconnect with yourself mindfully as we explore seasonal flower design for wellness.  Together, we create with freshly grown flowers and foliage instinctively and intuitively, allowing our hearts to lead our design.  We work slowly, and in the moment. There is no rush; only a calm space which enables us to create with beautiful flowers comfortably, for our wellbeing. I hope you'll join me. Tracey @themindfulseasonalist.com

Hi! I’m Hollie, a ceramicist and designer-maker based in Lancashire, UK. I made colourful, functional home-ware that serves a purpose whilst spreading joy! I first fell in love with ceramics when I was introduced to small batch production methods such as the traditional techniques of wheel-throwing, mold-making and slip-casting. After graduating in 2019, I set up mu studio with the intention of offering pottery workshops alongside creating my pieces.

This weekly drop in art group is especially for adults who would like to increase their overall wellbeing, meet new people, confidence and self esteem; primarily between the ages of 18 – 50. We meet every Tuesday and Wednesday 10 – 12pm and is £3/ week. You can go to one day or both, or even swap between the either of them.
