This class is about getting to grips with Tube Setting. You will have to option to create a pendant or ring &ndash; maybe even two pieces if time allows. Krista will guide you through the process of tube setting where you will be using the Foredom Pendant Motor to cut a seat for your facetted brilliant cut stone. Tube Setting Sunday 15th September 10-5pm

This course is suitable for level 1/2 students, it is a little bit more difficult than our usual beginner&#39;s courses but if you have already done a resin course with us or you already do a lot of craft, you will be able to follow this course without struggling.&nbsp;If you are not sure about your level, why not come to another resin course with us before joining this one?&nbsp;We use epoxy resin as friendly to the environment as possible. It is non toxic and can be used as a support for food.&nbsp;During the workshop, I will be showing you how to mix together resin and hardener to get the best result. You will be making a geode/agate on an A4 wooden support. You will be able to add colour, pigments and glitter to your clear resin. We have a lot of colours to choose from. You will be able to add mirrored glass, glass gems to give the impression of precious stones.&nbsp;At the end of the course, your masterpiece will not be dry/cured. I will be supplying you with a takeaway box for you to be able to carry your work home. Please make sure that your car boot is empty for you to be able to lay your work flat.&nbsp;Please make sure that you are wearing comfortable clothing and shoes. For practical reasons, I will be providing you with an apron, but resin can still splash your garments. The resin will not come off so please make sure that you are not wearing your best clothes! Please bring an extra sweatshirt as we will have windows open to keep the room well ventilated.

Fun with felt flowers gives beginners all the basic information to learn felting around a resist. In the three and a half hours, students will make two different flowers, using different techniques, along with different centres. &nbsp;&nbsp;Workshops start at 10am. I can teach up to nine people here and I can also travel within 20 miles if someone wants a group of friends (minimum 5 participants) in their own house or school. &nbsp;Fabulous idea for a hen party! &nbsp;Please note, though, I do charge mileage. &nbsp;If you have a larger group (say WI or class parents) I am happy to run workshops for up to 20 people in your own venue.My workshops are not timetabled, so there is a great deal of flexibility on dates - just get in touch and we&#39;ll sort out a day to suit us both!Please also check out my other listings for Workshops in a Wallet. Bespoke painting and sculpture workshops can be arranged or Francesca can travel locally to guide you in your own studios or locations.There are some fabulous painting and sketching locations for plein-air painting around the old Cortijo which is situated 750 metres high in the olive groves. With mountain views and a variety of plants and trees, which include oranges, lemons, pomegranates, figs and grapes. The eco-swimming pool is also a great place to sketch and paint with water lilies, iris, marginal plants and a small waterfall.Locations locally include the Watermill walk at Algarinejo, the lake at Iznajar, any of the local towns and of course further afield in Granada, Cordoba and Malaga.Francesca Wyllie is a very experienced tutor and has led many workshops with groups and one-to-one classes. <h2 id="isPasted" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">What is the course about?</h2>
If you mix up your own glazes, whether just picking recipes from books and web sites or running your own R&amp;D program, this course will help you by showing you what makes glazes leach, or not be food safe, or craze, and what you can do about it.
Much of the content of this course was in the previous version of the Product Safety course, but I have now taken it out into a separate course as many on the Product Safety course do not mix their own glazes. This also allows me to go into the glaze chemistry in a bit more depth.&nbsp;

The course begins with a quick recap of glaze chemistry and structure. It then looks at how glazes can be attacked in acidic (food) and alkaline (dishwasher) environments, and how you can make your glazes more stable. This includes using tools like Stull and limit formulae, as well as testing glazes in the studio and in the laboratory.&nbsp;
To consider the food safety of glazes, we look at which components may be toxic and at what levels, and combine this with our work on glaze stability. We also look at food safety legislation .
We also consider crazing, to determine in which circumstances it may or may not be acceptable, what causes it, and methods by which you can avoid it.
<h2 fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">What will I achieve?</h2>
By the end of this course you should be able to:

<li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Know how to use like the UMF, limit formulae, Stull chart and other guidelines to assess potential problems</li>
<li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Understand the mechanisms of glaze leaching in both alkaline (dishwasher) and acidic (food) environments</li>
<li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Understand which materials in glazes are potentially toxic, and how likely it is that a glaze will be toxic</li>

<h2 fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?</h2>
Intermediate to advanced. Some basic knowledge of glaze chemistry and glaze formulation is required.
<h2 fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?</h2>
The course is primarily run through the weekly online sessions, which are a live lecture where you can also ask questions or get a discussion going. These are recorded and put on the course web page for those who cannot make the course times due to time zones or other commitments, or for those who want to replay them.
Additional material that you may wish to explore is on the course website. This will help you go deeper into the subject matter, should you wish to do so.
There will also be a discussion period towards the end of the course, where we can discuss any of the course material or any more general questions you may have. The date and time will be set up at the start of the course, so as many people as possible can participate even if unable to attend the live sessions.
In addition, the course has an online forum that you can use at any time.
There will be suggestions for you to test some of your pieces and glazes between sessions.
<h2 fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">Are there any other costs? Is there anything I need to bring?</h2>
No advance preparation is needed.
You may want to test some of your work or test tiles (which will probably get damaged in the process).&nbsp; This mostly uses standard studio and kitchen equipment, though the following are useful if available:

Our intention for the Wild Finca Online Rewilding Retreat is to help you strengthen your connection with nature. Course Structure:

Week 1

Session 1: Introduction to Wild Finca Habitats
Date & Time: Wednesday 2nd October (9pm CET)
- LIVE with mini film inserts (an intro to the different habitats we have here, and a Q&A about habitats near to you)
Pre-recorded Mini Film:
- Introduction to the different habitats at Wild Finca.
- Visual tour showcasing various ecosystems.
Live Component:
- Q&A session about habitats near you. Participants can share information and ask questions about their local environments.
Objectives:
- Understand the variety of habitats at Wild Finca.
- Learn to identify and appreciate your local habitats.


Session 2: Wildlife at Wild Finca
Date & Time: Friday 4th October (9pm CET)
- LIVE with mini film inserts (the wildlife we have here, migration and local fauna)

- Presentation on the wildlife at Wild Finca.
- Focus on both migratory species and local fauna, highlighting unique behaviors and adaptations.

- Interactive discussion on wildlife spotting tips and ethical wildlife observation.

- Gain knowledge about the diverse wildlife at Wild Finca.
- Develop skills for observing and identifying your local wildlife.


Session 3: Agri-Rewilding Process

Session 6: Treasure Hunt Review and Closing
Date & Time: BONUS session Sunday 13th of October (9pm CET)
- LIVE a review of everyones Treasure Hunt (NB You will recieve the Treasure Hunt on Sunday 29th of September. The Treasure Hunt is specifically designed to get you outside and engaging directly with the natural world, as well as creating opportunities to put your learning into practice). 
Activity:
- Treasure Hunt: Participants will receive a list of items to find over the two-week period. Items may include specific plants, animal tracks, insects, etc.
Live Component:
- Review of Treasure Hunt findings.
- Identification and discussion of items found.
- Closing remarks and feedback session.
Objectives:
- Encourage hands-on engagement with nature.
- Provide a fun and interactive way to reinforce learning.
By the end of the retreat, you'll not only have deepened your connection with nature but also gained actionable insights to bring the spirit of rewilding into your own environment.
