ABOUT THIS EVENT This is a 2 month program during which you will make a body of work, advertising and publicity during the first month and exhibit it during the second month. Includes 4 weekly tutorials, flyer design, help with hanging, private view, a 4 week exhibition, no commission on sales, and help taking the exhibition down. You can book this as a group of any size. Taking our inspiration from everyday objects, (cups, bowls etc) collections  of natural forms (shells, feathers, leaves) or other types of personal memorabilia as a starting point for developing themes we will create our own layered, collage and stitch ‘Still Life’ or ‘Landscape/Nature Study’

School holidays summer workshop. Diverse and exciting art week where children will study art practices and life stories of Artemisia Gentileschi, Frida Kahlo, Marina Abramovich and Zaha Hadid. Four afternoons. All materials included.

Masterful use of shape can take your work to new heights, add vitality and energy to your work with improvised free cut shapes is the goal of this workshop. Exercises will focus on sharpening your awareness of the role shape can play in your work. Ideas will be developed by using fused fabric studies. Fabric compositions will be developed using piecing and raw edge fused collage. Learn to use shape and colour confidently by fusing, appliqueing, piecing or stitching them to add movement and direction to your work. Working with a variety of shapes you will learn how to add a new graphic quality by stitching or overlapping colour to make an individual free-form composition.  You may choose to work by hand or machine or both.
