If so be sure to have colour reference with you!</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Anna will provide you with colour wheels and primary colours on the table helping you with her guidance to create your very own colour palette at the start of the session from scratch!</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">You will receive your very own set of 4 bamboo coasters &amp; trays to take home and a marinara/margerita pizza and a house craft beer to enjoy during the session.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">You are able to choose to do the whole set or the coasters or trays only, either yourself or together with a loved one.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Please note due to the short time we have available during the session, varnishing is not possible on the day due to the fresh acrylics needing 24-36 hours (or up to a week if its a very thick layer), however if you pop in for a drink every second or last Thursday of the month either at 5pm or after 9pm and Anna will varnish your coasters and trays for you free of charge while you are enjoying a drink or some food at the bar. Do drop us a message if you are coming so we know to expect you!</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">We do not recommend to varnish them earlier than the recommended drying times as the varnish will stop the air to cure the paint and the art can get damaged and also do not use the coasters and trays without heat resistant varnishes as it will again, damage the art.</p><p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Please note even after varnishing the coasters will not be dishwasher safe nor fully waterproof (do not immerse in water!) therefore only damp cloth is recommended to clean, also please do not plece anything very heavy on the bamboo trays or they night break. In this 2 hour session, Jacky (aka Mossy Mosaics) will help you create two or three mosaic decorations using methods you can do at home.&nbsp;</p>

We invite you to join us, leave any day-to-day worries behind, and immerse yourself in being creative.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Spaces on our workshops and courses are limited so that our creative team of artists and makers can offer you the hands-on help and support you need to make the most of your time with us.&nbsp;</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">All the equipment and materials you will need are included in the price, unless stated otherwise, plus light refreshments (a selection of Shibui teas, coffee, hot chocolate, and sweet or savoury snacks). On full day workshops you are welcome to bring your own lunch to eat inside or out; or there are a wide range of independent sit-in or takeaway delis, caf&eacute;s, and restaurants, plus supermarkets, within a 5-10 minute walk.</p>

<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">If you mix up your own glazes, whether just picking recipes from books and web sites or running your own R&amp;D program, this course will help you by showing you what makes glazes leach, or not be food safe, or craze, and what you can do about it.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Much of the content of this course was in the previous version of the Product Safety course, but I have now taken it out into a separate course as many on the Product Safety course do not mix their own glazes. This also allows me to go into the glaze chemistry in a bit more depth.&nbsp;</p>

It then looks at how glazes can be attacked in acidic (food) and alkaline (dishwasher) environments, and how you can make your glazes more stable. This includes using tools like Stull and limit formulae, as well as testing glazes in the studio and in the laboratory.&nbsp;</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">To consider the food safety of glazes, we look at which components may be toxic and at what levels, and combine this with our work on glaze stability. We also look at food safety legislation .</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">We also consider crazing, to determine in which circumstances it may or may not be acceptable, what causes it, and methods by which you can avoid it.</p>

<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Intermediate to advanced. Some basic knowledge of glaze chemistry and glaze formulation is required.</p>
<h2 fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: border-box;">How will I be taught, and will there be any work outside the class?</h2>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">The course is primarily run through the weekly online sessions, which are a live lecture where you can also ask questions or get a discussion going. These are recorded and put on the course web page for those who cannot make the course times due to time zones or other commitments, or for those who want to replay them.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">Additional material that you may wish to explore is on the course website. This will help you go deeper into the subject matter, should you wish to do so.</p>
<p fr-original-style="" style="color: var(--text); font-size: var(--font-size); box-sizing: border-box;">There will also be a discussion period towards the end of the course, where we can discuss any of the course material or any more general questions you may have. The date and time will be set up at the start of the course, so as many people as possible can participate even if unable to attend the live sessions.</p>

<h3>WELL HELLO PEN ENTHUSIASTS, ARE YOU READY FOR INTERMEDIATE CLASSES?</h3>
<p class="">It&rsquo;s here at last! These intermediate workbooks for those of you who have completed the Beginners and are keen to improve your Calligraphy. There are two workbooks included, one for lowercase and one for uppercase. Each book takes an in-depth look at letter formations and connections along with some useful practice pages so that you can develop your skills further.</p>
<p class="">Each workbook has clearly defined 'practice at home&rsquo; pages so you can do your homework before we meet online to iron out any tricky bits you are unsure of, work on the &lsquo;in workshop&rsquo; pages and a final project too. Within the online workshop we&rsquo;ll talk about formations, connections and developing your style as well as touching on composition for your own work at home.</p>
