Just want to leave notes that I been went in Writtle Bowling Club that time my Grandad (Robert Ernest Leonard Coltham), he was long-term full membership until become President of Writtle Bowling Club that he was regularly going to play match games or practice like sort-of friendly match. Still remember inside my mind when I was kid, I did went in Writtle Bowling Club with my grandad for short time then left. Lovely afternoon of bowling. Green a bit bumpy but good company

Great atmosphere, set in the grounds of the village church

Writtle Bowling Club is in a lovely setting with good clubhouse and bar facilities. The members are welcoming and friendly but parking close by might be a bit of a problem. I've seen the green in better condition hence 4 stars instead of 5.

So lovely to play our first game of the season. Good weather, good company but need more practice on the bowling!
