Withycombe Rugby Football Club

Lovely ground. Club house was spacious and nice friendly staff. Parking was limited.

Kids Rugby matches being played. Usually after the matches the kids get 'lunch', usually small portions of sausage and chips or burger etc. This club house served a sausage roll each, which none of the kids could eat, the sausage rolls were either still frozen or not cooked properly I couldn't figure out what had happened. They were inedible unfortunately 😔. It's a pity as the club provides good seating areas inside and out with very friendly staff.

Warm and welcoming, with a good touchline atmosphere. The only downside was the limited parking.

Not the biggest club as they only have one pitch, but I guess that can't be helped. Pretty small carpark, but off road parking available. The clubhouse. Generally very dirty. I understand the mud etc, but a considerable amount of dried blood on the floor is not acceptable, not to mention it being a biohazard. Catering very limited, so we went elsewhere. After match food, again pretty poor. Some kind of unpleasant pasta and sausage creation, which for the most part, went into the bin.

On my latest visit I see there have been a few changes for the better. Selection of gins and a real ale, watch this space.
