  • Warm community and very enjoyable sessions. I'm not particularly athletic but that has been no barrier. Definitely the better of the 2 clubs I've tried. Had to move away due to work and I really miss training there

  • Trained at Union for several years, had an absolute blast, and only left because I had to relocate. Couldn't be more positive about my time here - taking up BJJ really changed my life and I've got John and Jamie (the coaches) to thank for that. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, really supportive of those new to BJJ, and the affiliation with one of the worlds top BJJ coaches means the BJJ is absolutely legit! • I attended a brilliant seminar which was hosted at Union Academy and..what a beautiful culture John has cultivated. Their warmth & hospitality are second to none. For the absolute beginner to the seasoned martial artist, this place..has that rare magic that is missing in most other clubs. I urge you to visit, not just for the depth of technique but to experience the vibe. They have the secret sauce :)

  • I began my BJJ training here in the beginners class. I was introduced into all the basics in a way that was well structured and easy to understand. It was the perfect way to start BJJ. The atmosphere of the club is extremely friendly. There is no ego here, only a group of people trying to better themselves and each other. I would highly recommend starting BJJ here.

  • I have been training at union bjj for a good few years now. I can honestly recommend the club to anyone whose looking to begin their journey. Or if you're in Manchester for a few days come and visit if you're looking for a friendly place to train. John is an experienced and a really lovely guy. I remember the first time I walked in as a complete beginner with no experience in the grappling arts. Everyone made me feel very welcome.
