The Kensington Ballet School

The class is very very crammed. Clearly way oversubscribed. It is in a small room, so for quite small children, who have their parent ( and sometimes nanny, grandparent along too, etc) attending with them in a small space…well…you can imagine. It is clear the teacher also finds it overwhelming with managing the chaos that often ensues in this (Ie too many young kids in a tiny space along with their various “adult” helpers). Kensington Ballet is a really sweet ballet school, my daughter started when she was 1 and still has friends from this school 4 years on. Richard and the Ballerinas are lovely and welcoming, such a shame we moved so far away.

I'm not one to leave reviews but I feel the need to publicly report the experience of a close friend who's child was extremely distressed by the practices of this school. The concerns raised were from an educational professional - quite frankly this 'school' and its staff does a disservice to educators everywhere and needs to be held accountable for its poor practice. The report stipulates the use of bullying, intimidation, and extremely poor (at best; and at worst - potentially very damaging...

My daughter has now been with this school for nearly 5 years, progressing through baby classes to RAD. All teachers are very professional and work well with children of all ages. I also especially value communication with the management of the school who is always available to help, guide and advise on the most suitable classes and teachers depending on the individual requirement of the child.

Very professional teachers who tap into the imagination of children and captivate them

Wonderful ballet classes! My daughter adores the lessons and the teachers are all outstanding; fantastic ballerinas and completely amazing with little children. Of all the (many!) baby/toddler classes I have tried with my 2.5 year old (Monkey Music, swimming, etc.) this is without question the best. I can't recommend this company highly enough.
