  • Brilliant pub. Convivial atmosphere. Excellent food. Caters for all tastes but what interested us, as veggies, was their bold and imaginative use of seasonal and locally produced veg. We were intrigued by the three course meal, with Swede in each course. I mean, we had to try that. It was fabulous! From swede tempura to candied swede and ricotta cappelleti in a Jerusalem artichoke sauce, and finally parsnip ice cream with swede biscotti. • Fantastic - I absolutely love places that have clearly thought about their customer but also the community. An inspired mix of the arts, a beautiful old pub & excellent food. The chef came out to discuss our options as one of our party was a coeliac but he made adjustments and nothing was a problem. • We stopped in for dinner last weekend - hadn't booked but got a lovely cosy table and the whole experience from there was superb. Service was impeccable, food was divine (we ended up ordering one of everything on the menu it was so good). Great to see a community-run pub doing such a brilliant job. Keep it up, we will be back... frequently!

We contact the pub beforehand to let them know we are coming and are allowed to park in the rear carpark. The home baking is excellent and the coffee was spot on. We are made to feel welcome and know we will be back.

  • Fabulous!!! We had 2 lovely experiences here, the first when exploring for a place for dinner, the warmest welcome and we were able to book a table. We met the chef, lovely guy, he promised to look after us when we came back and was true to his word. I love the fact the carpark is level and easy to park in. My mother in law had no trouble navigating the disabled ramp to get in. The service and welcome was excellent, great wine and good choice of different soft drinks for the driver. The food ...
