The Bilbrough Country Classroom

Bilbrough Country Classroom provides a calm, stress-free environment for our young people who require respite from the hustle and bustle of school life. It’s well documented that being in nature is good for mental health and our environment, including rolling green fields, provides a feeling of space and freedom; helping our young people become more focused and productive. Students who come to Bilbrough Country Classroom will find themselves spending time with all sorts of animals, as in dogs, horses, guinea pigs, sheep, chickens, geese, ducks and our latest arrivals the two alpacas! We endeavour to look after the whole person by encouraging our young people to cook their own healthy food, perform self-care and find positive ways of developing relationships with their peers, through sharing mealtimes, playing structured games and assisting each other with simple chores.
