Talking Tree (Climate Emergency Centre)

Let’s make Spelthorne carbon neutral and turn our borough into the most nature-rich, sustainable, healthy and happy community in the UK. In April 2020, a handful of local activists set up Talking Tree CIC, named after the Saxon word for Spelthorne meaning ‘speaking tree’. They wanted to continue the ancient tradition of a place where local people could meet to discuss the important issues of the day – such as today’s climate and nature crisis – and take action.
