Sewing with Emma - Eve Trousers - Trouser fitting

Join us for a day of dressmaking with our tutor Emma Smith.

Emma has a wealth of dressmaking experience and teaches for sewing studios and pattern company retreats across the UK.   

Learn how to adjust a printed pattern to fit you.  Emma will teach you how to measure your body and create a toile/muslin in order to get a perfect fit to your trousers.

We will be making the Eve Trousers by Merchant and Mills and a copy of the pattern [worth £16] will be included in the workshop cost. 

The workshop will cover

• Taking accurate measurements
• Making a muslin/toile
• Evaluating fit
• Fitting adjustments 

You’ll make a muslin/toile and then be able to make further adjustments to your pattern.  Sheeting and pattern paper will be provided.  

You may wish to start to make the final version in your chosen fabric.  You will need a medium weight canvas or twill, another choice could be corduroy or denim.  You can make the Eve in a lighter weight fabric but the shape of the trouser will be more fluid.    Requirements for each size are listed in one of the pictures.

Bring your sewing machine, basic sewing kit, fabric and lunch to nibble, we will keep you going with tea and cake!
