  • I've trained with Steve for only a short while and have studied many martial arts. But I can honestly say this is by far the best training I have experienced, it just leaves you wanting more and more each time, it's great for developing speed, power, agility coordination and reaction time. Steve has a wealth of knowledge and will take time to explain thoroughly he is friendly and treats us all as family.

  • Really enjoy training at Steve’s gym, great friendly atmosphere with a good bunch of students all trying to help each other progress, this atmosphere is created from Steve & the way he helps you patiently get your technique just right, other sensei’s/teachers would not go into half the detail that steve does but with each bit of advice you really notice the difference subtle changes can make! Steve’s knowledge is immense, having been around the world on his martial arts journey learning diffe...

  • Top place, Steve was a very good instructor, my main training is Thai kick boxing. But Steve was more than helpful letting me train at his gym. Learned a few handy techniques that will help me & great tips, he knows his stuff. Very impressed all round, nice set up.

  • Have trained JKD with Steve for well over 10 years. His knowledge and experience of martial arts is unbeatable. He is an excellent teacher and a great storyteller! Anyone who knows him or has had the honour of training with him for any length of time will tell you what a legend this guy is!

  • Steve Powell's Jeet Kune Do Academy is one of the absolute best. I have trained with many instructors over the past 27 years and none have been able to create a martial arts family in quite the same way that Steve does. At the moment, during these tough Covid times, it has been hard for small clubs to survive, with reduced numbers having to be maintained to allow for adequate space. Steve has been resilient and dug in to keep the Academy going.
