  • I’ve been working with John for about 18 months now. I was a consistent runner but arguably lacking in direction which meant I wasn’t achieving any genuinely challenging goals. Johns training programmes, guidance and support have made an enormous difference to the efficiency of my training and improved my pace. I’m running a 10k time of 46mins which is about as quick as I could do when I was 28… I’m now 40!

  • John has helped me take my running to the next level, increasing volume drastically while learning the benefits of training at different intensities. If you are looking to improve your training and your enjoyment of running you should definitely give John a go.

  • Since working with John, I’ve definitely increased the number of minutes I’ve spent in physical discomfort, but it’s been offset by a greater sense of focus and each week I feel like I’m ticking off new personal achievements - speed, control, mental approach. John is clear and direct in his approach. He is supportive but does not tolerate excuses (of which I offered many initially…). Would recommend for those who have big goals but are (like me) incapable of facing into their weaknesses alone!!

  • John coached me to a second place finish for my first trail race and ultramarathon, providing me with a custom plan and frequent feedback. Having been a casual runner for two decades, doing all my race training “diy”, getting John as a coach has been a game changer. I arrived at the start line well-prepared and injury-free. I could never have gotten a podium finish without John’s coaching and motivation to get through the hard miles. He is now coaching me to prepare for a road half marathon.

  • I highly recommend John's coaching. He built a plan for me to target a sub 3 hour marathon at manchester in 2019. John was always on hand to provide feedback and support during the process which was great as I had never followed a training plan before. I achieved my goal by running a 2:58 which I was very happy with as it was my first marathon. I will definitely be consulting with John when I plan my next big running target.
