  • My daughter began her karate journey with Peter Milne at the age of 11. By 16 she had competed internationally for England and achieved a World championship Gold medal amongst others. She has been National champion in Kata and Kumite at both junior and senior levels. She continues to relish everything this amazing club and instructor has to offer. Pete offers the highest level of training, support and encouragement. Having seen this club grow over the past 11 years I can’t recommend it high...

The club is incredibly supportive and welcoming, and there is a real team atmosphere inside the dojo. Peter Sensei is passionate and knowledgable about karate. He encourages students to be the best they can be and is an excellent teacher who exudes kindness, patience and humour. Lessons are varied, fun and challenging with a timetable that has something for everyone r...

  • Somerset Ryu Karate is an excellent club. Very welcoming and inclusive for all levels. Sensei Pete is a fantastic instructor, tailoring each lesson to the class and getting the best out of us all! He's built a great club with a fun and supportive atmosphere and great camaraderie. I highly recommend it. 🙂

  • I have trained karate with Somerset Ryu for over 8 years and I can not recommend it enough. No matter what your age/level, there will be something for you to learn and work towards with regular gradings and competitions. The training environment is brilliant with a fit-for-purpose dojo. Sensei Peter is great also!

  • Somerset Ryu is a great Karate Dojo and Sensei Peter creates lessons that are technical, practical and fun. The dojo itself is reminiscent of a Japanese style dojo which has a create club ethos and community feel.
