  • We did the Pony Treking with 2 chikdren aged 12 and 9. The 12 year old is a novice rider, the 9 year old had never sat on a horse before. They had an amazing time. The ponies are in excellent condition, the leader of the trek was very knowledgeable, very helpful and encouraging. She seemed to be extremely competent with all of the horses and was very clear with her instructions to the riders. They all arrived back safely having had a great afternoon. Many thanks to everyone at Shilstone Roc...

  • Took the 2 hour "Experienced riders only" hack on 22nd August 2021. Turned out that one rider was not experienced so the ride was somewhat limited - we left at 1035am and returned at 1220 a.m after having to dismount and walk the horses down a steep road to the stables. My horse had been at the stables for 8 years so was lacklustre and bored. The cost was £68.50 per person for the "2 hour" hack

  • Wow what an amazing experience for someone like myself who is definitely a novice!! Our instructor was patient and very knowledgeable and a special mention to our trusty steeds Bevan, River and Winston who really made our day. The scenery is breathtaking (if a little wet on the day) I would definitely recommend this stable. Pls give yourself plenty of time to get here as we found out our 36 minute journey turned into a 90 minute one due to roads and traffic.

  • Just had a lovely 2 hour ride across the moors with Shilstone Rocks stables. The yard has a really nice atmosphere and Maria, our guide, was lovely - attentive, instructive and chatty. The horses are well cared for in an environment as close to their own natural environment as possible. We had a walking ride, as my son-in-law had never been on a horse before, and even though I'm an experienced rider it was a delightful two hours. What can be better than two hours on a horse wandering across D...

  • My 8 year old daughter and I enjoyed a lovely ride on Dartmoor last week. Corinne who took us out was excellent in ensuring we were all happy and safe but also had a lovely reassuring and calm manner. The horses were well behaved but had enough life about them to be interesting. I'll definitely go back - a really lovely stables and wonderful afternoon on the moor. Many thanks
