About Sannithy Maruthar Kathirhamar Illam

Set up in 2017, we're a charitable organisation supporting citizens of Sri Lanka and the UK through financial hardships. Sannithy Maruthar Kathirhamar Illam Ltd is a charitable organisation registered in the UK. Its Charity commission Registration number is 1187202 and Companies House number is 10612224. Sannithy (full name is Sri Selva Sannithy) is a sacred temple for the Hindu God Murugan in Thondaimanaru in the Northern province of Sri Lanka. The word Sannithy also has another meaning which is "a place where God resides." The person who built the temple is Maruthar Kathirhamar. Illam means place, so the name Sannithy Maruthar Kathirhamar Illam is a place to worship God and remember the founder of the temple. The main purpose of Sannithy Maruthar Kathirhamar Illam is to promote education and religion along with Bhajan singing, Yoga, Classical dance (Bharatha Natyam), Carnatic Music, Veena, Violin, Miruthangam, Tabla & Flute. We also support those struck by poverty through the supply of food packages and using kind donations to help them through financial hardship.
