  • The best of the best. If you are looking for a great martial arts to learn, while having fun and meeting great people, be it for yourself, your children or your grandchildren then this is the place to go to. Sensei Dave Scanlan has, experience, knowledge, understanding and a great sense of humour. After 15 years of attending classes, I would, without doubt, highly recommend Rising Sun Martial Arts and Sensei Dave Scanlan.

  • From my very first lesson, I knew I was going to train and develop my skills thanks to Sensei David. I have not only learnt how to defend myself and get fitter, but also how to be mentally strong, resilient and disciplined, and this has carried over to other aspects of my life. Sensei David is highly knowledgeable and a true master of his craft, and I am grateful to all the knowledge he has, is, and will continue to pass down to us. To anyone looking to start a martial art, Rising Sun Mart...

  • Out of my 15 years within the sport, Sensei Dave is one of the best instructors going around within the sport. Highly knowledgeable, friendly and passionate in what he does, his hands down one of the best coaches I’ve trained alongside with. He gets the right balance of making classes fun and entertaining but also makes it competitive and educational. If your interested in self defense or want to learn traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu….Rising Sun Martial Arts is your place to go!

The students adopt a sense of companionship and like to pass on knowledge to keep everyone safe which again is something you would want in a martial art club. If you wish to learn self defence...
