About Rf Senco
Many primary SENCOs are head teachers or class teachers. Being a SENCo creates a huge additional burden and many schools are now opting for non-teaching SENCos who can dedicate all their resources to the role. Additionally, the legal requirement for new SENCos to obtain the National Award for SEN Coordination places an huge obligation on an already highly pressurised role without, it seems, giving real, practical help.
