Mr. Sharma attained notability as an “encounter specialist” with the Mumbai Encounter Squad and was involved in reducing crime in Mumbai in this role as an encounter specialist. After resigning from Mumbai Police with a 35 year long prolific career he officially joined the Shiv Sena party in Maharashtra on September 13th, 2019. He is the Founder and Chief advisor of the P. S. Foundation.
