Pontnewydd Golf Club

Tried to ring for last two weeks but no response, on day visit to Cwmbran so just call in only to be told your not wearing right kind of shorts and sorry you need to book in, so answer your phone and you would save people wasted time and trips will never visit again

The greens are really nice but I was appalled by the 2 old owners who were constantly harassing us about are clothing which was suitable for playing golf and then proceeded to swear at us about sharing 3 sets of clubs between 4 people. Safe to say I won’t be coming back neither my friends

Disappointed. Spoke to them online and was told £15 for the round with a friend. The person at the clubhouse told us we could both play for £18 but after 9 holes we was told to pay another £18. Was told before i booked i could wear casual clothes after work and even the person who i paid said it was fine yet i was harrassed the whole way round by everyone telling me i should have worn a collared shirt under my golf jumper. Friendly welcoming club with beautiful views around the course. The golf course is short but challenging.

Very enjoyable course with some challenging holes and well maintained greens. The staff and members are also helpful and friendly.
