In addition, this section will look at the importance of the different sleep pillars, the differentiating roles of NREM and REM sleep and factors that either impair or promote sleep.

This section will introduce the concept of psychological recovery within the scope of a wellness coach, look at the relationship between one’s cognitive state and physical state and discuss appropriate methods for facilitating psychological recovery.

Final Exam

After the completion of the course, you will take an online final exam from the comfort of your own home, or wherever you prefer to take tests. The test consists of 100 multiple-choice questions. The exam is timed and cannot exceed 120 minutes. To pass, you need a score of 70% or higher. You will have 3 attempts to pass, and additional retests can be purchased by calling Member Services.

  • How many CEUs is the course worth?

    NASM-CWC is approved for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) by the following organizations:

    NASM – 1.9 CEUs

    AFAA – 15 CEUs

  • How many questions are on the final exam and how long do I have to complete it ?

    There are 100 multiple-choice questions on the final exam and you’ll have 120 minutes to complete it. You have 365 days from the date of purchase to complete your final exam.

  • How is the final exam administered?

    The final exam is administered online within your student portal. It consists of 100 multiple-choice questions and 120 minutes for completion. You have 3 attempts to pass with a 70% or higher.

  • Do I need a fitness credential before obtaining the Certified Wellness Coach Certification?

    While a fitness credential such as the Personal Trainer CertificationNutrition Certification, or Behavior Change Specialization is recommended, it is not required to take the NASM-CWC course.

  • Will a certificate be mailed to me?

    Once you successfully pass your exam, a digital copy of your certificate will become available to you within 24 hours, but in most cases immediately. Within 4-6 weeks, a hardcopy certificate will be mailed to the address you have on your NASM account.

  • Do I have to renew my certificate?

    To maintain your certification, you must submit 1.9 CEUs (continuing education units) every two years. Unlike other NASM renewable credentials, the CWC will NOT require a renewal application fee. However, credential holders will be responsible for any applicable late fees.
