A workshop of Intuitive Colour & Form in Watercolours

EXPERIENCE LEVEL: Open to anyone who wants to relax with watercolours and spend time focussing on creating intuitive artwork.

 There will be a short meditation at the start of the session, to encourage relaxation and create an atmosphere where we can be mindful and aware of the flow of creative energy during the class. In the chaos of daily life, it’s often difficult to find space – both physically and mentally – to allow the experience of exploring creative energy to happen. There’s always something else to do!

This workshop will use a very simple mark-making exercise to start with, which will demonstrate how it’s possible to tap into a combination of ‘logical’ and ‘creative’ sides of the brain while we work creatively.

A structured session using templates and watercolours to relax the mind and enjoy intuitive shape making and colour application will follow, applying the simple principles of line and wash watercolour techniques.

To finish, there will be a lovely exercise to use watercolours in a loose and flowing fashion, and then find the interesting parts within the painting, with the use of a simple framing technique, and embellish with pens and marks to add interest.

All materials will be included in the session.
